I heard this evil pabulum from one of my biology teachers on friday. How can we as Christians stop the spread of this iniquity?

"Evolution has been massively tested and corroborated.
It is explained by natural selection and, more broadly,
by modern evolutionary theory including sexual
selection, and Mendelian and molecular genetics.
Today, evolution is the unifying principle of modern
biology."
“Nothing in biology makes sense except in the light of
evolution”
Dobzhansky, 1973

Evolution is based on science, everything your teacher said is fact. I am sorry if you do not like it, but too bad. Do you like your microwave? your TV? your computer? Well it is a good thing that there are people in this world who like to work out how things work and how to apply them to our lives. Lets all just abandon science, since it must be flawed if it was used to arrive at the idea that we "evolved". We should just go and live in caves and listen to our spiritual leaders about why the sun rises, and perform sacrifices to appease these things called gods that no one has really seen, but must exist because we do not understand why something is the way it is. Lets not advance because what we might learn conflicts with what we were indoctrinated with since we were born, our parents must always be right, and never lie to us, because I have seen the Easter Bunnie and the tooth fairy. Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah.

You sound like you are really an atheist playing a bit of a joke, but unfortunately some people think that way. :( Makes me sad.

First of all evolution can not explain religious concepts. That is very far from the truth. Science is not for that purpose anyway - that is backwards. I explain more below. Anyway, other than that: Evolution is ok in parts - not totally evil (only half evil). It is evil as a philosophy and bias against supernatural creation. There is so much that really has not been proved by the standards of science in evolution, it is more a philosophy. There IS Not enough evidence to consider it a theory (in whole) and by this I mean only the part about all life coming from only one life - when it is UNKNOWN how life began in the first place! It could have been, instead of one "tree" with branches, a forest or small grove of "trees" instead as far as the progression of evolution from a starting point. I can see "their" perspective on this, don't get me wrong, but I also see that they think just because of a lot of time going by they can solve the problem of how far genes and DNA can go which is false (backwards) and unwitnessed either in fossil record or in real life. The holes in the theory and why it is imperfect needs to be taught and not in the arrogant, prideful way it is currently being taught. The motive is to remove mankind's relationship to God as far away as possible, changing the relationship God has with creation, especially with mankind from the beginning of creation - changing it to animals evolving slowly into human beings so this means we are related to the animals and not much different from them and then God spoke to the man and woman after they fully evolved (why?). It errases the important "created in God's image" idea - it means we are more like animals and thus can't have the relationship with God that is clear in the Bible that we can and need to have - this close relationship is also actually experienced first hand by believers, so that we think macroevolution is a lie to fool others that there is no God!

If you think that an education is evil, then drop out of your present college and attend a religious secondary school--duh! Why do you think that you must instead interfere with the rights of those who actually DO go to school to learn! Oh and by the way--Thedosius Dobzhansky actually wrote books based on findings in real science--they passed a process called "peer-review", which is to say that they stood up to much critical questioning by a variety of different students in the fields of the life sciences--what have you contributed to match his life work, since you seem to have a penchant for passing such critical judgement of his writings!

Why is it that evolution has to be seen as "evil" to you? Believe me, I just want to say this before I start my view, I completely respect your opinions and views. Universities also are teaching many courses on religion and in no way is that seen as "evil". There are speculations on the evidence of a "God" but that's not to dismiss anyone's beliefs of one by all means. Evolution has scientific facts proven many times by many intelligent scientists. Evolution isn't being taught as a means to override or dismiss Christianity or any other religion for that matter, it's a theory based on many proven experiments taken over many years. Opinions and beliefs are what they are and everyone is entitled to them, but why not be respectful of both sides? There is so much of that these days, no one respecting each others views, and that is the cause of many problems the world sees today.

A real creationist would not use the word 'pabulum'. Dumb this down about 50 IQ points and try again if you want to succeed in imitating a creationist.

We must stamp this out! Let us by all means return to the days where ignorance was prized and valued as God's greatest gift. When knowing things was treated as an offense punishable by burning at the stake!

What has happened to our morals? All of these lunatic people learning things! It's an abomination unto the Great God Nuggin!

I honestly hope someone breaks your jaw so non-sense stops spouting from your mouth. If you don't like what they teach in the courses GO TO A CHRISTIAN COLLEGE. NO ONES FORCING YOU TO GO TO THIS SUPPOSEDLY SATANIC UNIVERSITY...you are free to believe what you want but keep it to yourselve...sheesh. I hope you never become a doctor or get any other job in the medical field....

Drop out and go to a biblical diploma mill like Kent Hovind's alma mater if that's what you want to believe. But for what such a diploma is worth, toilet paper is cheaper.

i happen to think this is sort of unnimportant. this is obviously a very touchy subject for most people based on their personal beliefs, so as a land with freedom of religion and the supposed seperation of church and state i think we should just skip teaching where the earth came from in science classes altogether. i mean, it's not too important to most other things taught in these classes, and everyone already has their own opinions about where everything came from based on their beliefs, so it may as well not be taught, save lots of people some trouble.
