I'm looking at purchasing an HP PL5072N 50" Plasma but haven't found many reviews other than the obvious (Great picture, resolution, 720p, etc....).

What i'm really wondering is if anyone has had problems with this unit and if so what? Also how long have you owned this product, and how is the QAM tuner? Any feed back is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Well when buying you need to consider the customer support behind the product like " does this company have good support"? " Wheres the nearest service center", " Maybe I should ask a TV tech and get his advice on a quality tv"

OK your in luck.

HP = Samsung junk inside with an HP logo. Same with philips/magnavox, sanyo, vizio plasmas.

Stay away from all walmart tvs.

A decent plasma manufacturer is Panasonic, Hitachi.

A higher end plasma unit is Pioneer.

Last year, consumer reports ranked the HP Plasma as best value, and in terms of quality up there with Panasonic and Samsung.

They have also great service. The new TV issue of consumer reports should be out soon or check their web site.
