If it is an automatic no, if it is a stick and you are using the original bellhousing then yes, the splines are the same. With automatics the reason why is the 351M has a bigger bell housing than a 302. If you need a trans the following will fit your motor. A C-6 from a 351m, 400, 460 from a 70s model truck or Lincoln will work. There was a transmission called an FMX that comes in Ltd's and other ford cars. To use this trans you will have to modify the drive shaft, the shift linkage, and move the transmission cross member forward. Best bet is to stay with a C-6. A trans with a solid aluminum case is a C-6, an iron case trans with a removable bell housing is an FMX.

If it's a stick it probably will. However on automatic trannys, most 302's were equipped with C4's and the 351's had the stronger C6. While the C4 could be adapted to the 351 it really isn't up to handling the torque of that engine.

Which auto trans is it c-4?The "ranger station"website has lot's of ford truck info and the dude that run's it has probably done or seen this a couple of times.I think it's therangerstation.com or some close proximity of that.

351 M has bell housing of 400, and 460, won't fit.
