No.

The modern-day Masonic temple ritual is very similar to the LDS Temple Endowment because the Masons, who built the great temples in the day of Solomon, which temples were corrupted forms of the schools of the prophets established by Samuel, passed down their understanding of the endowment to men who had set themselves up as “the elect”—men who were “endowed” with a greater knowledge and understanding of life. Therefore, they had convinced themselves they should remain in a brotherhood of mystery that set them apart from the general population of heathen men.

In the early 1800’s Joseph Smith reestablished the school of the prophets and began to explain and teach the significance of the Masonic rituals and secrecy of the brotherhood, in which he reached a significant level until he was kicked out by other Masons because he began to teach them that they were using a corrupted form of the Holy Endowment of God that the Masons didn’t understand properly.

Joseph tried to explain the endowment in its simplicity and beauty, but the arrogant Masons wanted nothing to do with a young man who didn’t think it appropriate to keep Masonic ritual secrets from others, and who would take away the very essence of their power—their egos.

As Joseph Smith received the explanation of the true endowment of God, he was inspired to incorporate into it many other teachings that had either been lost, or which were not necessary in ancient times, but were necessary in the latter days.

After his death, the LDS Church divided itself into two main groups, ... currently present in modern times is known now as the Community of Christ church. There are no temples, or endowments, or salvation for the dead practiced in this church, they having had a better understanding of the true purpose of the endowment that Joseph Smith established.

One of the other factions was led by Brigham Young, a flamboyant and very charismatic apostle under Joseph Smith who led most of the poor, indentured, and illiterate members of the early church out West where he founded the place where he would eventually oversee one of the most phenomenal personal dictatorships known in modern times.

...It was Young that inspired the LDS people to put themselves above others and become a “peculiar and special” people of God, believing that they were led to the land of Salt Lake to establish a city of God they called Zion. It was from Young’s administrations and the administrations of those that followed him that kept the original endowment taught by Joseph Smith intact (except for his own fascist doctrines, which have since been taken out).

Brigham Young’s ego and spiritual dictatorship was the perfect venue for Lucifer to establish his truths among a people full of faith in God and who would give their lives for what they perceive as being the plan of God. Brigham Young didn’t understand the symbolism of the endowment anymore than the LDS people do presently, thus he didn’t think to change it to conform to his own beliefs and doctrines of his time. The current LDS leaders are not so naïve in their want to please the world and get along with the rest of society who do not believe in Mormonism. They have changed the endowment to fit the whims of society and keep its members “ever learning and never coming to the knowledge of the truth.”

this is from an article, I'll give the address when i state my sources..........

There are a couple of minor things that should be brought to McKeever and Johnson's attention. First, while it is true that symbols like the "all-seeing eye" are used in freemasonry, there is no question that they are not unique to freemasonry. The "all-seeing eye" is also called "the Eye of Providence" and was made a part of the National Seal by Congress on June 20, 1782. If you want to see it, take a look at the U.S. dollar bill. There it is. The question then becomes this-did Joseph Smith and later LDS authorities borrow these symbols from freemasonry? Or did they instead use symbols that were in use popularly at that time? McKeever and Johnson make no attempt to explain why it is that symbols which are not unique to masonry must have come from the freemasons.

So like mentioned before, though they might have been used in masonry, they were still popular among many others.

No actually the Book of Mormon is supposed to be anti-masonic.
The masonic influences on Joseph Smith about 12-13 years after the church was founded after he joined masonry, he used for the church.

Washington D.C. is Masonic inspired city. The White house streets to the north, form a pentagram pointing to the White house.

Joseph Smith was the first latterday prophet, and he didn't join the Masons until Nauvoo, and that was only so that they might protect him and the others in the church who were also Masons.

As for any similarities between Masonic symbols and LDS symbols, guess it's just one of those freaky things.

No some of the top people were masons but not all. Joseph Smith never joined the Masons until just a few years before he was killed.

Yes, Joseph Smith was a Mason...not sure which level.

And I'm sorry...but no one speaks about what goes on in the Temple(except like sealing and baptism for the dead) and I'm pretty sure no one talks about what goes on in mason meetings either....so I can say they kill goats and drink their blood wile bathing in babies tears....does that mean it's true?

From what I've read, yes. Also from what I've read, it should be called LSD not LDS. You gotta be trippin' to believe that stuff.

That's my opinion, and I don't think it's wrong.
