take the back of a fork and shove it in wehre the tab goes it...it shall work like a charm

This happened to me the other day, so I used a manual can opener, removed the entire top of the can, and poured the beverage into a glass.

Push down on it with the handle of a spoon or put a paper towel over the hole first and press with your thumb. The towel will help prevent you from getting cut and stop any soda from splashing out.

use a flat metal end like a spoon end or a flat screwdriver....and press really hard on the area where the can hole is suppose to open....with enough force, it should be able to open

A church key (can punch) will work. This must be a phenomenon peculiar to pop cans, because I never have any trouble with soda cans! :)
