If not why do you want the government to tell non christians who to marry and who to worship by outlawing gay marraiges and wanting prayer in public schools

Also, would you want to walk into a court house or other government building and see symbols of every religion but your own?
If not why should other religions be forced to see christian symbols in these places but not their own?

And what does "Freedom of Religion" mean to you?
Does it mean freedom of any CHRISTIAN religion or does it mean freedom of ANY religion?

Also do you think it is right for a religious group to boycott and picket in front of a store that sells to members of another religious group? If not why do christians like to boycott and picket pagan and similar shops even though they don't have to themselves buy from it since it is not aimed at them? (my husband has experience from that last question)

Tony, if the government is pure evil and it's the christians that voted the "christian politicians" in in the first place does that make christians evil? Also you obviously didn't read the rest of the questions as you only answered one.

RIFF, I didn't say that the government did, but the christians are really pushing to outlaw gay marraige, second, christians are wanting prayer back in public schools, third when that judge in alabama put up the 10 commandments at the court house but no other religious symbol or law he was forced to take them down and the christians were in an uproar, how do i know i used to be one of them

Liet

1) Telling a consenting adult they can't be involved in a marraige is the same as telling them who they can or can't marry, so if someone said you can't be involved in a marraige because the person you want to be with the rest of your life is not up to THEIR standards for marraige does that mean you should tell a gay, consenting adult that they can't marry a man because YOU think it's wrong and immoral. As for the 6 year old there are good reasons as a 6 year old isn't old enough to know what is right or wrong

the second 2. What make's you think you have the right to say that someone's religion isn't a religion because of what you think are falsehoods

3. What you think is the "true" faith and what someone else thinks is the "true" faith are completely different so how can you say that freedom of religion means every one must follow what YOU think to be true

NO ONE HAS THE AUTHORITY TO SAY WHO'S BELIEFS ARE IMMORAL AND UNTRUE, AND UNJUST, AND CAN'T REMOVE THOSE BELIEFS

Fascinating how many of the Christians have ignored the questions you asked or purposely misunderstood them for convenience. I guess the questions are too uncomfortable for them because they hit too close to the truth.

I am a Christian and I don't want any of those things. As long as a church is not forced to marry homosexuals then what ever happens happens it doesn't change my salvation. Currently we already can pray in schools it just isn't organized and that is fine with me as long as some one doesn't say I can't pray to myself. Court houses I don't even pay attension to what is on the walls they could be empty for all I care. Freedom of religion means free to practice what ever religion you want or no religion at all. So far sounds like we are ok but the last part I believe everyone has the right to picket and boycot and protest as long as it is peacful once it is not a peaceful assembly you lose that right.

Unfortunatly, the ones who do this are the loudest. They are also, believe it or not, the minority. MOST Christians don't want the govt in church or church in the govt. Most I know have no issue with Gays being married as long as thier church was told they "had" to do it. Many people will tell you the don't "see symbols" in the courthouses, but I live in the deep south. I see it everywhere. I stopped worrying about. But you're right in that they don't attempt to see where anyone else might be coming from.
To the last question, no I think that's awful. I don't see anyone picketing bible stores. That's just silly. If you don't want to buy it then don't buy it. It's not hurting anyone. Some people are so stupid. They need a hobby.

*Is Catholic*

1. The ban that we wish does not tell people who they can marry, it tells people who cannot be involved in a marriage. Just as we have laws that say a six years old can be married (because it is immoral) we also need to have laws to say that men cannot marry other men (because it is immoral).

2. As a Catholic I do not want prayer in public schools because we are not a Catholic country. The parochial school system in this country developed out of having protestant prayers required in public schools in the 19th century. However saying that I do not want prayer in public schools also means that I do not want public schools to be a secular zone of indoctrination for secularism is its own "religion" with its own rituals and prayers and that likewise must be avoided as something that would be taught to the exclusion of other things.

2. Not all "religions" are actually religions because they contain too much falsehood. Also when it comes to the rule of Law we must acknowledge that our legal systems are derived from a Judo Christian understanding of law and justice.

3. Freedom of Religion means that people have the right and OBLIGATION to practice the true religion and the true faith because that right is guaranteed by God as a demand and obligation of natural and divine law that all people must take up and participate in. It does not mean that people have the right to think and do whatever they wish. It means that religion must not be prevented from occurring.

4. It means that truth should not be suppressed. As far as any belief system participates in real truth, then that aspect of that belief system must not be suppressed.

5. The right to gather and protest peacefully is guaranteed in freedom of speech in the US constitution. This is a right of human law. As far as natural and divine law is concerned, the right is more narrow and the right is granted only to those who gather and protest peacefully when they gather in truth.

6. Because truth is concerned. Something that is either immoral or untrue or unjust or etc. does not have any right to expression in society. We might tolerate the existence of that thing, but it has no right to stay in society if society decides that it should not stay.

Hi. I don't think the Government is religious. That would mean spending their money on people who are poor. Not telling lies. Not sending people to war .No ,definitely not Christian. I don't belong to a religious group that protests and boycotts .I am just a simple Catholic .

The government tells us to do a lot of things. Some of which many people don't like. Like how fast you can drive in a school zone. Or that you can't murder or steal. Our founding fathers set it up this way and it has worked very well. Now that these principles and basic morals are declining, we see the result. And what a mess it is. Why would you support making it even worse by taking away even more of these basic structures? You'd be well off to leave what works, alone.

You have a lot of quests.
for #1--no I wouldn't want the govt to tell me who to marry and I believe the govt should recognize gay marriage, everyone is granted free will by god some christians don't respect this or understand this applies to all ppl even those who aren't christian
2--ppl hav to understand this country was founded by ppl who were christian
3--freedom of religion means you have a right to worship god or any deity you choose to have faith in
4--no I don't think they should but ppl do things to hurt each other especially when they don't take the time to understand one another, ppl are ignorant out of fear. If they put the negative energy to use to do something positive like learn about unfamiliar faiths, then they wouldn't do ridiculous things like boycott businesses

Its opnly radicals who picket pagan stores. I respect paganism greatly.

To me freedom of religion meansd we can pick any religion - I dont think it means we can ban relgioin from public buildings like there going towards now. I think that is clearly a constraint of religion. If I want to pray ina public school, im gonna do it. If some pagan kid wnat sto pray ina public school, I hope he does and I hope he is very successful.

I don't lobby and I have never been part of a picket line. I believe that God will manage the affairs of the world in His time and my responsibility is to share His word whenever He creates the opportunity.

Oh YES! Rottweilers run when they see me!

True Christians, my friend, don't involve themselves in the world. Their namesake, the Christ, disallowed this. It's the FALSE, he warned about, that do these nonsenses. (James 4: 4 " Friendship with the world is enmity with God"; John 15: 19). The son of God, as his designated king-to- be cammanded: "Go, therefore, and make disciples of peoples of ALL the nations, baptizing them in the name of the father, the son and the holy spirit...(and teaching)" (Matt. 28: 19, 20) THAT'S their job, as Christians.

(What relig. symbols in courts? Not in the U.S.)
