Forgiveness to me means, to let go of any feeling of hate, or anger that causes you to hold a grudge against someone who has done something to hurt you. We must forgive one another just as Christ forgives us. If we forgive not one another, our father will not forgive us. Some people say, " I forgive them, but I won't forget what they did!" This is not forgiveness either. If you are reminding yourself of how that person hurt you, than you are holding a grudge against them and forgiveness is not truly within you. As Jesus hung on the cross, he said,"Father forgive them, they know not what they do." Even to his last breath he forgave even those who killed him. This is true forgiveness, and this is the type of forgiveness that we should all inherit. Thank you and God Bless.

I guess it means letting things go. Forgiveness means to forgive and forget. I think forgiving is easier than forgetting. I know there have been plenty of times that I have forgiven people but I still haven't forgotten the things they have done to me.

Forgiveness is when we fully understand what Jesus did for us on the cross and then we can extend the same forgiveness to others. We have to remind ourselves that God said that He will forgive us in the same measure that we forgive others and I surely need God's forgiveness, we all do.

Real forgiveness means thinking of, speaking to, and treating the forgiven person 100% as though it never happened. That's how God sees us. "As far as the east is from the west, so far has God removed our transgressions from us" Romans 8

In some senses, it is impossible to truly forget sins that have been committed against us. We cannot selectively "delete" events from our memory. The Bible states that God does not "remember" our wickedness (Hebrews 8:12). God is all-knowing. God knows that occurred. However, having forgiven us, He treats us as if the sin had not occurred. God does not hold our sins against us. In that sense we must "forgive and forget." If we forgive someone, we must act as if that sin had never occurred. We remember the sin, but we live as if we did not remember it. Ephesians 4:32 tells us, "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."

What Jesus Christ did for me when he died on a cross to save me from my sins. He will forgive anyone who repents and just asks for his forgiveness. I'm so glad that my savior has forgiven me and I will praise him for as long as I live.

Forgiveness is what we receive from Jesus Christ when we ask. It is also something that we give to others(because of what Christ has done for us)....we release them from the requirement to pay back for something they have done to us or others. A decision that one makes in the heart to release them expecting nothing in return...a spiritual decision.

1 John 4:19
We love him, because he first loved us.
We need to forgive (not continue to hold grudges).
Jesus holds no grudges after He forgives.

It means to me exactly as how it sounds; forgiving others for their mistakes and not judging them too harshly for it, because we all make mistakes
