geeeeee, why do YOU and others assume Christan's are ignorant or superstitious ?? What makes you and others or anyone smarter than a Christian ??? We have studied, lived, gone to school, and some Christians probably have an IQ that would blow yours away..... ALL people are educated, some to different levels and some in different subjects..... I would hate for a Professor of English to operate on me for anything......Christians UNDERSTAND, maybe not all , but MOST I should say, evolution, Christians do NOT believe it or at least not all aspects of it, sooooo, what is YOUR problem ????? You believe what YOU want, and let the Christians believe God........ and before YOU call people ignorant, maybe YOU need to look at who and what YOU are.............. go in peace....... God bless

I can understand why you are confused....being knowledgable about evolution and being knowledgable about the countering explaination of the way of things would make the decision to disbelieve this particular theory simple. Atheists embrace evolution because its the only ideal out there that supports their disbelief, yet, no evolutionary scientist can explain particular facts about natural selection such as molecular machines that synthasize proteins for DNA or the irreducible complexity of even the simplest cell. The more advanced technology becomes the more science has a difficulty ignoring the ultra intricate systems and their symbiotic relationships with non-organic systems such as light and sound waves, temperatures, elements and etc. You'd think by now, well, maybe not you...but someone out there should think it...that if technology has brought us so far and is such a kindred spirit with science that there would be some way to produce imperical evidence that evolution, even micro-evolution is fact rather than just theory after how many decades? Yet science is no closer...only futher from the support required to lay to rest once and for all this cosmic question: Where did life originate from and why? Creationists have their answer and can plainly see millions of pieces of proof of it every single day. You are confused because even with the theory of evolution there are two things that have to be in place before this can occur...matter and energy. The proverbial primordial soup has to have had ingrediants along with a base mixture of specific conditions and yet evolution, science and technology cannot reproduce the conditions...yet somehow all of everything on this planet that is in existance right now and the influencing systems such as the moon and sun that support life on this planet evolved from such simple and basic organic substances...why is this such a challenge? Everything is exactly as the Biblical account records it to be, including the 100 or so biological, geophysical, astrological statements supported in the Bible long before science was ever a word and recorded by men who in fact were these ignorant, superstitious people that you refer to. You'd be a little superstitious too if you heard a voice from the sky telling you to build an ark....that just so happened to be the perfect deminsions for the purpose of which it was built. Any ship builder today would tell you that a stable water vessel should be a length 6 times the width. The National Geographic channel is having a special this coming Sunday that presents life systems inside the human body as captured by a micro camera...check it out and apply your precious billions of years of mutations to the reproductive system of the human female and tell me...please...at what point did that become a viable system without all of its attributes in place at the same time through evolutionary processes? Love in Christ, ~J~

Well, I learn about it and even believed it when I was in school.
I took various Science classes, Chemistry, Biology 1 & 2, and Physiology. I understood that there is a belief in speciation, and a theory that all life came from a common source, which is usually referred to as Primordial Ooze.
But Christianity to me is not what takes me away from such things. There are too many oddities which seem to me keeps Evolution false. The sphinx moth for instance, looking just like a hummingbird with markings included. Not really something that I would attribute to Evolution, in my opinion. Also there is a Hebe, which is a evergreen in the snapdragon family (Schrophulariaceae) which until it blooms appears to look exactly like something in the Cupressacea family. Not at all a relative of snapdragons, neither do they tend to enjoy the same environment.
So Evolutionary theory has that problem, and others as well that I won't go into at this time.
Summary, I really don't care either way.

Atheists and Christians have the same facts and evidence to study. We all see the same thing. But the world view is much different. One believes in God and the other believes that man evolved. The fact that there is no agreement even between the scientists in the same field speaks volumes about the theory. Christians aren't stupid. We are adamant in our beliefs because of our confidence in it's evidence. We live it every day.

I'm a pagan. Hope you won't mind me addressing your question.
I have a strong background in geology, anatomy, microbiology and astronomy. I suspect I know as much about fossil evidence as you do, as much about paleontology as you do, and as much about physical anthropology as you do.
I believe, as others have pointed out above, there's not a conclusive case for evolution, mainly because of the dearth of transitional species.
The more time that passes without finding those transitions, the more weight suggests the theory is flawed.
I don't believe in creationism. But I believe there's probably another explanation.
You asked.

Not confusing to me. I've studied Anatomy, biology and evolution. For me to accept that matter came from non-matter just isn't logical. The warm soup theory has been recanted by the man that "discovered" it and was sold to countless college students. I'd imagine he won't give us our money back for the books or wasted time in study!
Too much missing, not enough transitional fossil evidence, too many holes!
I believe our world has design written all over it.

I am educated on Buddhism, does that mean that I should accept that? No, infact some people Jonathan Wells, Stephen Meyer, are more educated then I am, and reject the theory based on their education of the theory.

i know about evolution and i don't execpt every aspect. like for example, i don't believe in the evolution view of how the world was created. i do however believe that animals have evolved over time in the way that they look, but i don't believe that humans evolved from apes or monkeys.

If you are so knowledgeable about evolution post five empirical facts substantiating it to be more than unprovable theory.

It the same thing with any form of Paganism. No one cares to learn about it, but say they know .
I don't understand the denial of evolution. Never have.
