It was probably a spinal injury. I had a hamster (actually on monday) that fell from my hands to my lap...about 16 inches...and fell sideways and hurt her spine and died a few hours later

Your hamster probably climbed up the bars, and fell sideways, and hurt itsself, and thats how it died

There is nothing you can do if a hamster has a spinal injury, a vet can't do anything accept put the hamster to sleep, theres no cure for a broken back, so really when this happens to a hamster, just keep it as comfortable until it finally passes

This is what happened to my dwarf hamster on MONDAY :'(, she lived with her sister, but yesterday I got a new dwarf to keep her sister company, because she was very sad and depressed

Oh my gosh! I know EXACTLY how you feel! I sorta had the same situation last week!

Here is what happened to me: I woke up in the morning, alone in the house because my parents were at work, and I checked on my Dwarf Hamsters and saw that Coca was bleeding all over. Turns out that he and his buddy were fighting during the night. He was moving a little and I was panicking and crying. I actually went onto here and asked 2 questions on help and I followed what some people said and I think that I made the last few moments of his life easier or something. He was bleeding horribly on his face and feet and started to not move much. My mom came home to drop me off at school and after school she said that the hamster passed away after she dropped me off at school. I was so upset and we buried Coca along with the ashes of our kitten (put down in April, about 9 months old) (they were buried separately) at sunset.

All of that happened on the same day, last Wednesday!

So, I know how you feel about the death of your hamster, because the same thing basically happened to me.

I hoped I helped you feel a little better. Losing your beloved pets is terribly upsetting and sad and my Coca was the third pet I have lost in my life.

Please dont ever provide her a shower returned! that's certainly very very cruel. i understand you didnt understand although. You in no way get a syrian moist. They take sand baths or purely groom themselves and water may lead them to very scared and unwell. additionally you're no longer meant to even touch them for no less than 3 days after shifting abode as they're already very under pressure out. She could get moist tail from stress. ultimate difficulty you're able to do is dont hassle her for some days yet once you spot she has diaorrhea deliver her to the vet. i'm hoping she would be ok. She possibly would be yet be careful along with her kay? perhaps you're able to google hamster care and view a thank you to look after a hamster. Oh and dont pay attention to betsy she is an fool. hey I purely study your edit. Thats no longer so undesirable yet dont use them returned kay? Hamsters lick themselves so as that they dont choose for baths and those wipes might have chemicals in them which could be risky to hamsters. they are going to in user-friendly terms make the hamster under pressure, or worse unwell. And remember to any extent further do no longer hassle her for some days! Or she could get unwell!

Honey, hamsters don't live very long, often only a year or two, not ten or twenty years like dogs and cats often do. You loved him and played with him and treated him well - he had a good life. Remember the fun you had with him.

Even if you had taken him to a vet, there probably wasn't anything they could do, so don't feel bad about not getting him there. I took my daughter's hamster to a vet once - the vet took me aside, said they don't really have any way of treating hamsters for most problems.

After a litle while, maybe you can get another hamster and have good times with that one, too.

Well theres a couple things you need to do. and theyre pretty basic.
The first thing you need to make sure of is that you did NOT give him anymore fruits than he was supposted to have, for they are affective and too large of a source and hard to digest for small animals.
The second thing to do is make sure he had food AND water.
it may be arthuritus. If you have had it for 1 and 1/2 years it may be or, if it has gotten injured, most likely in it's ribs, than that may be the reason.

Hamsters are fragile little animals. When they get sick, they can go downhill pretty fast. My best recommendation would be to get that little guy to a vet right away. If that's impossible right now, just make sure he has fresh water--maybe put some in a little cup in case he's too weak to drink from the water bottle. And try to offer him some food. Keep him warm, and hope for the best.

Im sorry to hear about your hammy.

Your hamster could have died of internal bleeding. Or even old age, hamster life span can be to about 2 and a half yrs.

Not too sure of your hamster history, so it is actually hard to say about how your hamster died.

Good Luck:)

I'm very sorry that he died. How old was he? Hamsters don't have a very long lifespan. About two to three years is the norm. It could be he just died from old age.

He needs medical attention, and if your parents don't want to help you with it, then they should have never gotten you the pet to begin with.... For the women who said this earlier about not wasting money on a ten dollar hamster, THAT IS WRONG, he is alive and has a heart..

If something that is living and breathing can bring joy to my child, and i let hem bring it home as a pet, i would NEVER sit there and tell them too bad, that is bad parenting, would you like your child to do that to you???

Sweetheart, you can call a vet, and tell them your problem , tell them you are a child and your parents don't want to help you, and just ask all of the questions you need to, and there will most likely be someone COMPASSIONATE, and friendly who will be willing to help you.
