I'm looking for a new job and a friend gave me this advice when deciding between the two jobs....."Frame all decisions through a window of timeliness. In the long term, are your choices sufficient for your aims? Embracing distant gratification can help overcome short-term work difficulties like a pro"
what do you think he means by this?

He is advising against being one of the people who have very short view of things ,
They often snap at little things then are unemployed and homeless .
Means , do you want a place to live ? and $$$ to eat ? maybe pay for more schooling . . ? or whatever . . .
Or , just get pissy about every little thing and need your miniature issue satisfied , but end up a bum .

Means , have a signifant goal for the future that you are working for ,
So that you can be cool about irritations at work .

he hasn't had a job.
most job seekers, some 95%, are looking for a paycheck and very little more.
you see they spend more time planning their yearly vacation than they do their five year job plan. Same way with their financial goals.
when you, not he, look at a job ask yourself can i learn something here that will help me advance in my next job? cause there will be more next jobs. 4 sure.
remember u sell , yes sell, ur self to the highest bidder your body mind spirit and knowledge for the highest price u can AND
they buy u for the lowest price they can.
REAL world.

If the job you are thinking of taking is not going to get you any nearer to where you ultimately want to be, it may be better to be less than happy and stay in your present position for now.
