i mean, they're humans and i think they can be attracted to women too. whether sexually, physically or emotionally.. how do they block those feelings?

I'm not certain that they do block those feelings nor am I certain that they should. However, I do believe that the negative and abusive priests take advantage of the innocent and trusting people who come to them for guidance or in service to God. I think the positive ones either try to re-focus their energy (if they are bound by a vow of celibacy like Catholic priests) or find mature, emotionally fit partners (if they are not bound by such a vow).

Be well,

i'm sorry, how is it like doctors? Not. priests don't see a lot of naked people and they usually are not married so no similarity with doctors. You're going to have to ask the ones who are able to block these feelings but if you have been listening to the news lately, you'll know that most priests don't block these feelings

priests absolutly are attracted to women, physically and emotionally...this I can tell you from personal experience (I am joining a seminary next september). we understand the sacrifice that comes along with giving your life to Christ. the temptation is always there but through prayer and Christ's love, we are able to get past it.

They don't block them. Maybe you haven't heard about the resent lawsuits.
Instead of having normal healthy relationships with people capable of such relationships, they use their authority to abuse the weak and powerless.

It isn't normal, that is for sure. Consequently many are not able to block those feelings.

They don't isolate them but put them under the grace and discipline of God and avoid strong occassion of temptation.
Like us all priests are called to be authentically human.

it's like doctors - they see a lot of naked people, don't they? but it's not common for doctors to mess with their patients. i mean, it happens , but it's not the norm...
