Does that mean Noah and anybody before Jesus was crucified went to hell? For what? Being born to early?

Those before Christ had the sacrificial system to save them. When Christ died it didn't mean everybody went to heaven. Only those who accept Him as Lord and Savior go to heaven.

I think that your question is a good one.

The thing that I a lot of people miss is that there is more than one 'place' in Hell. Yes, according to what I read, many were in Hell before the crucifixion, but one part of Hell was a place of torment, and another place in Hell was actually kinda nice.

As I understand it, there were only spirits there because the resurrection hadn't taken place yet. And also from what I read, they don't get tired. Spirits don't get tired.

So people should understand that the preconceived notions they have about certain words and concepts have been changed over the years, and most people have no clue about the origin or old concepts.

That's part of the reason why I am here, to tell people what I've found in all my reading and learning. To define the concepts as I have been exposed to them.

Surely you are being vicious. The people before the Crucifixion of Jesus that were in a safe condition under the law of Moses or the Patriarchal era when they died will also be in heaven.

Jesus' death did not stop everyone from going to hell. Some people just wish that were true. Not even everyone that calls on Jesus will escape hell.

The early saints that went to hell were put on an upper level. When Jesus was crucified he went to hell for three days. While he was down there he preach the new covenant to them and then there was repentance for the sins and then they were a allowed in heaven.

Jesus Christ being crucified did not stop everyone from going to Hell.

Those who believe He is their Redeemer and Savior will be granted eternal life. Your obligations are still to live a "good" life, confess your sins, receive the Body and Blood of Christ (in Mass), repent for your offenses, and amend your life so you don't continue your recognized sins.

I don't know if they went to Hell. It's my belief that Jesus Christ's Life, Death, Descension, Ascension, Resurrection - opened the graves to allow eternal life for those waiting for Him (probably Noah and many, many others - too many to count). I think Jesus Christ went to Hell to accomplish this (thus the Ascension on the Third Day - would had to have Descended before Ascending) He miraculously did what no one else could have done, by His Amazing Sacrifices!

May God Bless all who have responded in this forum and keep you in His Mercy. In the name of Jesus Christ, My Lord, I pray. Amen

Jesus descended to the place of the dead to free captives held there.

Descent and Ascent (631-632)
Christ "descended" and also "ascended far above all the heavens" (Eph 4:9-10). The Creed teaches both his descent into hell and his Resurrection: "Christ, that Morning Star, who came back from the dead" (Easter Vigil Exsultet).

The apostles taught that Jesus, like all men, joined everyone else in the realm of death. However, he descended there as Savior "to preach to the spirits in person" (1 Pet 3:19).

Declaring the Just (633-634)

This abode of the dead is called "hell" because the souls are deprived of the vision of God. Jesus delivered only the "holy souls." He did not descend into hell to deliver the damned or to destroy the hell of damnation. Rather, he freed the just who had gone before him (Council of Rome).

When Jesus "preached even to the dead" (1 Pet 4:6) he completely fulfilled his mission. This act shows that Christ's redemptive act has spread to all men of all times.

Where did you get the idea that no one will go to hell? Apparently not from the Bible. For example it says, "he cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars— their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death." Rev 21:8

A person is saved if they believe in the heart and confess with the mouth.
(Rom 4:3 KJV) For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.
All through the Bible the Birth of Jesus was proclaimed, their belief was based upon prophecy and not actually seeing Him.
In the cause of Abraham, Abraham believed God's promise of having a son, that son was a type and Shadow of the coming Savior. Abraham believed God and was accounted righteous.

Jesus didn't die to stop everybody from going to hell. Jesus died because his father required him to do so.

Noah, and anybody before the Crucifixion of Jesus, have nothing to do with heaven or hell.

It is impossible to be born too early; one is born when it is time to be born. Again, this has nothing to do with heaven or hell.

Birth is a great gift.

Death is a great gift.

Gifts should just be accepted.

No they didn't go to hell, because they worshiped God, and lived the life God set out for them. They were Jewish, and those are the chosen people of God. God sent down his son, to die for us, because he loved us and wanted to show us that. Jesus, was also mentioned to come back in the Old testament, he was just fulfilling Gods profit. Just because Jesus died though doesn't mean everyone is saved, you have to accept him, and admit you are a sinner to be saved.
