Read the can and it will often say how many it's ok to have in one day.
You didn't say what type of energy drink he drinks but I would recommend XS energy drinks. They have no sugar and there are even a few non-caffeine flavors. If you live in the United States or Canada, you can buy them at www.jewel.mychoices.biz - and they're cheaper than many brands.

I just happened to stumble across this thread and I am actually dumbfounded by the answers. I don't even know where to begin, but most of you shouldn't leave an opinion and make it sound as fact because you have no clue what you are talking about..

First the real and only answer to your question is:
It depends!

What brand is he consuming and how many a day is he drinking? Generally speaking, a large number (NOT ALL!) of the more well known brands do contain a high amount of sugar, caffeine, sodium, artificial flavors, carbs, and calories, and drinking numerous cans a day of products like these are not something I would recommend.

However, there are several products out of the 200+ energy drinks on the market that he could drink several times a day without any problems.

A.C.T., developed by a team of doctors and researchers, and considered the world's first healthy energy drink has virtually no sugar, no caffeine, no calories, and practically no sodium and carbs. It's formula consists of vitamins, amino acids, plant and fruit extracts, etc...

It tastes good, works fairly quickly, there's no jitters, no crash and burn feeling, the energy is consistent and lasts longer than the leading brands, and it's up to 50% less per expensive per can compared to Red Bull and others.

So, from an ingredients point of view, a nutritional profile point of view, a taste and results point of view, and from a pricing point of view, this is probably the best energy drink on the market. Those are all things that you can objectively measure.

Taste is subjective-can't prove it! You might like the taste of something, and I don't and vice versa. It's an opinion. Most people make a decision based on what is the best product based on taste, which is obviously idiotic!

Regarding the comment about cancer and Sillygirls comment that if it caused cancer they wouldn't allow it to be sold in stores, do you know how insanely stupid that comment is?

First, the FDA allows the sale of cigarettes, and we know that several hundred thousand people die every year due to smoking. They're sold in grocery stores!

Second, the grocery stores are filled with products with various ingredients that have been shown in numerous studies to be carcinogenic-that means cancer causing!

I almost fell out of my chair laughing when I read that comment. You have a lot to learn, both about ingredients, the food industry, the pharmaceutical industry, and how the FDA works. Just in the last several years several major drugs have been recalled that were initially thought safe, so this whole notion that grocery stores or pharmacy's couldn't sell us a product that might have problems is just not true..

Anyway, if you would like to make sure that your cousin is drinking a healthy energy drink, you can send me an email to: info@sendmethedetails.com

If your cousin was drinking one of the more popular brands, like a Red Bull, Throttle, or Monster for example, you win! If he was drinking one of the products considered to be a healthy energy drink like A.C.T. your cousin wins...

Yes, Energy drinks have 4 times as much sugar as the leading soda pop. My brother is like your cousin, he's like obssessed with them. He gained 5 lbs in 2 days just by drinking those. Hope it helps!

Is energy drink bad for you? Yes. It is made of chemicals. If you want energy eat an orange or drink orange juice. Eat real food not chemically made food or drink.

some are known to cause cancer, but what these days doesn't cause it! If it has the Guarana Caffine Extract you can get a 5hour+ boost of energy. as long as you drink only one per every other day, you'll be fine!

no they aren't bad for you, but they arent exactly GOOD for you either
if you drink too many, like 2 a day, then yes they might be bad for u
also if your sensitive to caffiene it might be a problem
so having ones not going to kill you, but its not going to make any healthier

hope tht clears stuff up with u and ur cousin
