Some keep them at home.
When I lived in the city, I had a neighbor who was a trucker.
He parked his rig on the street in front of his house.

Hi. As an ex-owner we were lucky enough to park in the lot of the company we worked for which is what a lot of people do. And yes, some take the thing home and make all the neighbors mad unless they have a HUGE place usually in the country. However, for the most part, forget about the parking lot it's just not safe any longer. Renting a spot at a large self-storeage lot for RV's and the like is your best and safest place. There is one not far from me that has everything from the Swan's food service trucks to the big rigs along side the RV rentals. Set up the rental for the space no matter what you park in the space so that you may leave a small auto in place of the truck. There is a reason all those parking lots place signs "no trucks" have a little respect and stay off the lots. Parking lots are NOT paved for heavy equipment. It takes a better foundation which is expensive and so is fixing all those wholes or rolled up paving. Good luck and be safe.

Depends on the situation.
We have a large truck stop near here, that has a back lot specifically for that. I see them parked along the far edge of the lot at the local supermarket, and a guy who owns a local trucking firm rents out spots in his parking lot.

Some places have bans on tractors being parked in neighborhoods, or even in driveways. My neighbor parks his in his driveway, but he is only home about 2 or 3 days a month.

You usually can arrange for parking spots with business owners, etc. You may even have to pay rent to leave it. Some even park them in their own back yards. Just look and ask around.

I work at a very large retail store. We have truckers ask if they can park their rig way out far in the parking lot where no one ever parks cause it's too far away from the store. We let them.
