First why would you place this in Mental health? Two you should have the dog checked to see if he has epilepsy my dog did and the few times that he had seizures before we put him on medication he would have convulsions and than after a few minutes he would come out of it a little shaky.

Do you think because your dog has convulsions he has mental problems and that this category is for animal mental health too? This is the first question on animal mental health I have seen in this category; it is for humans.

But to answer your question based on my experience with dogs; he or she probably has a bad case of worms. Get the animal to a vet and get him some deworming capsules. Worms can cause convulsions just because of the discomfort and the fact that they are taking over the animals intestines. They sometimes are very difficult to get rid of. He may also be old and suffering from old age. Dogs don't live much more than 14 years.

Good luck with your dog, good health to him, peace and love!
