Learn First Aid and CPR ( Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation). Hospitals have a volunteer program that will allow you to get familiar with medical situations. In addition, you could take a CNA ( Certified Nurse's Aid ) course. Yes, there are male CNA's. Many of these courses are available at your Local Red Cross. So, take some courses and gain some medical experience. Go for it !! Paramedic courses are quite indepth and will require a lot of studying. Best of Luck !!

Call the Red Cross or YMCA and find out about taking a CPR course. Take chemistry and math classes. Learn a second language (one that is common where you live, like Spanish or Vietnamese, for example). Learn ASL: American Sign Language. Volunteer at a hospital, to learn what 'the atmosphere' at a medical facility is like. If you can, buy or borrow books on anatomy and emergency medicine.
