It hurts to eat on my left side. I did have a bump on my right gum, but that's pretty small now. The one on the left hurts pretty bad. Well, not exactly hurts. It's irritating and I can feel it all the time. It's right by my lip. I can't eat on that side, but it doesn't hurt when I bite down my teeth. The bump is pinkish redish in color... The same color as the rest of my gum, just a little lighter. It doesn't hurt when I touch it though. It's firm, but soft. I'm 16 if that matters. It doesn't hurt to swallow my saliva, but it gets real irritated when food touches it. Help! It's been here for like 2 days.

Have your parents take you to see your dentist. Most of the time when you have a bump like that above or below a tooth it means that you have an abscessed tooth and the reason that it is not hurting is because the infection has a way to drain into the bump so that it is not building up pressure. If your tooth is infected then you will need to be put on antibiotics and have a root canal done to remove the infected nerve. Go see the dentist as soon as you can because if you do have an infection it is not good for your body.

Probably an abcess from a cavity that you haven't taken care of. Go to the detists, you can get some antibiotics for it.

I'm no doctor so I'm only guessing at this but it sounds like herpies and that's not good. It's ethier that our it might just be a sore but like I said I'm not doctor so I don't know. I suggest you tell your parents and go see a doctor about it.

By far the best thing to do is see your dentist and be appropriately treated.

It's probably an ulcer. It will go away in about a week or two.
