Is it true that Hebrew National is not really kosher?

The package does have the Kosker K symbol on it but I heard this from some of the Jewish people I know. They said they would never buy that brand.

Hebrew National is Kosher. The meat products are not Glatt Kosher.Glatt Kosher is more stricter kosher.The animal must have smooth lungs.If the animal has inflamed or defected lungs the meat is not Glatt Kosher.Many Jews only eat Glatt Kosher meats.

Hebrew National is absolutely Kosher.
Your friends may believe it's not kosher because the orginal Hebrew National company was taken over a few years ago by ConAgra foods, which makes both kosher and non-kosher items.
There are also different organizations that certify a product "kosher." If your friends are very religious, they may feel that the organization that certifies Hebrew National as Kosher does not have guidelines as stringent as they'd like. There is an "ultra" form of keeping kosher called "Glatt Kosher," and Hebrew Nationals are not Glatt.

Or, your friends could just be plain wrong.

Yes and No.

In the simple sense Hebrew National is kosher, but Jews who normally keep Kosher do not consume Hebrew National because it is very lenient on certain Kashrut laws which have become the norm in the religious Jewish community.

So while Hebrew National is kosher it is considered not Kosher enough for most Kosher keeping Jews.

That would surprise me a great deal. Have you checked out their web site? Looked up the rules of kosher foods, and checked them out? I've always believed they were excellent.
