Every week, Friday/Saturday there is a fireworks show somewhere southeast. It might be on the river, I'm not sure as half of it is blocked by a building so I don't know exactly where it is.
Just that it happens about once a week on Friday or Saturday. So what is it for, or is it just some holiday every weekend?

I meant southwest, not southeast.

I think I know what you are talking about, and the fire works happen every Friday around 9:45 at Coney Island. There is no special occasion, it's just for the people's enjoyment. Also, this is the last year that Coney Island will be known as Astro Land because they are knocking it down, so maybe the fire works are also like a goodbye type thing.
