I am stumped. She has everything. She's into music, photography, painting, movies. CASH is probably the answer. Do you have any cool ideas?

I think something that shows she has become a woman. I like the idea of registering her to vote. But something also like a nice necklace or a ring with her birthstone in it. I'm 21 so I think this is something she will always love. But you should explain to her why you chose the gift you did. Because she has become a woman and you are proud of her and that you have loved her from the moment she was born till forever.

I agree with "MAP". When my daughter turned 18 we too were stumped as what to get her, so we got her a short pearl necklace, with a matching set of pearl earrings with a small diamond. As the previous writer put it it is something she may not wear immediately, but will when she is older. It is an acknowledgment that she is an adult and is being treated as one.

When I turned 18, my parents gave me tickets for a trip with overnight accommodations (2nights) to go see a performance( The Lipizzaner's Horse Show).

A trip to a well known museum for the visual arts may be better suited for your daughter.
(Yes, I did go by myself but that may not be a good idea nowadays!) So maybe a trusted friend will do for this.

For my son we will probably buy him tickets to a NASCAR race or give him tickets to go see his favorite sports team at an away game.

Try to think outside of your comfort zone.

Good Luck.

well, what did you get her for her 16th?
perhaps a tasteful birthstone ring or necklace. Even if she doenst wear it right away, she will cherish it and surely wear it later.
I once got my birthstone (ruby) earings, posts, in the shape of a heart,(it was dinky) and I wore them and had them forever!

Get her something that she can actually use on a day-to-day basis, like a car or laptop
