Why I have no idea... I just eat chocolate during that time of the month when I crave it 24 hours a day lol. I don't think it would help you sleep because hot chocolate usually just has chocolate flavored powder and tons of sugar in it... Actually I don't see how even real chocolate could help you sleep because of all the sugar in it... and when I have chocolate I always crave something salty anyways

I don't see why not. I quite often have a big glass of chocolate milk before I go to bed.
Watch out, though. Sometimes I have to get up and tinkle in the middle of the night when I do that.

Chocolate has caffeine, try warm milk. That's been used for years to aid sleep.

Calcium (in the milk) is actually a sleep aid. However, the sugar and caffeine in chocolate may keep you awake.

hot chocolate is more of a stimulant than coffee
dark chocolate in small amounts is said to be good for you and relaxing, like a couple of small pieces
