I am looking to put a new engine in my 86 f-150. It is 2wd and has a efi 302 V8 in it now. I was wandering if someone could give me advice on what size I should go with and where I could get one from. I was also going to buy a new automatic transmission for it. Thanks

The cheapest way is to just replace it with what come out of it. If you want to get some power and have money to spend, put a 351 windsor in it with a dual plane alum intake, a 650 holley, some headers, a mallory ignition system and a fuel pressure regulator. Changing cam and springs is up to you.

bear in strategies that your opposite kit and 1st kit are on a similar transmission kit. in case you have an inclination synchronizer on your tranny it may probably reason this. How is your stress plate and throwout bearing look like? you will possibly be able to wish yet another seize. Your tranny on your 86 replaced into outfitted somewhat nicely, so i actually dont' wish its the challenge.. many shops will look at your seize plate for loose.

Find a newer engine the same size and do the engine swap and hook up the sensors up to the newer engine.

for ease of replacing it, get another 302. otherwise different parts will be needed like intake manifold, front end brackets, mounts etc...
