I think that to an extent it has made us all stereotype people, but we have good reason to.
Our nation suffered such tragedy and loss on 9/11, not because of an accident but because a group of people decided to attack our country. Granted there are people that share the same religion, ethnicity, and live in the same country that are innocent and had nothing to do with what happened. But there were thousands of innocent people that were killed on 9/11. In country's like Afghanistan and Pakistan the citizens are taught how to kill people. They are trained how to be suicide bombers and told to kill Americans. So we have to be cautious, alert, skeptical and scared. We have every right. We have to protect ourselves. It may not be politically correct but it has to be expected that if you get on a plane now and you see a few people of middle eastern descent on the plane, specifically men, your going to be a little nervous and hesitant.
The threat is still there. It's not going away. A day or two ago a new tape from Osama Bin Laden surfaced. How are we supposed to act now?
It may not be right or "nice" but the truth is, people of middle eastern descent are going to be discriminated against, but not because we want to bully or pick on people that are different, it's been happening every day since a group of cowards attacked our nation with no regard for the lives of innocent people.
