What religion, or a philosophy would I be in if I believe that god(not a specific one), or some sort of a higher power exists, but I dont give it a name. I also believe that every religion ultimately believes in the same thing, but they just call it different names like god, allah etc.
I am just curious what I should call myself, please dont try and tell me that my theory is wrong if you dont agree.

I'd call you a deist. That's someone who believes that there is a higher power, but does not get any more specific, either with a name or any attributes. And since you want to say that every religion "ultimately" believes the same thing, you are a monadist: All is One, my child!

I would say you might be a Mystic. A tiger amongst sheep. I dont mean that in a bad way. I mean that most religions define God. God cannot be described. A wise man once said that the ultimate leave taking is leaving God for God. Passing the dogma passing the image of God and Knowing that God is beyond any human definition. Once we get stuck in a image. Then we are stuck. The mystic moves on.
I belong to a church. I belong to my church because it is very very active in helping the poor very active very active takeing care of the earth Solar panels and going through garbage to decreas our footprint on the earth . Very active in praying for peace and doing work for that goal. Charity is very important on my path and being active for me in helping others is when I see the face of God.
Some people around me on sunday are stuck in the image. thats OK. I know that I have seen my tiger face. I know that Im not a sheep.
But my point in all of this is that it is better to understand then to be understood as Saint Francis said.
Sheep or a tiger it better then being a lazy pig who does nothing for the world IM NOT saying you are. Im just giving my opinion. Gandi once said that a Rich man with no Job is a theif because he does not contribute to society.
So there are lots of sheep and a few tigers living with a bunch of pigs. WHo know or dont know, but do nothing for our world.
So you need to ask yourself What are YOU, are you a sheep a tiger or a pig?

i liked ur thoughts..
as we know every religion is same...but u what is the problem today?people r having any of religion but no one is understanding the messages,& r fighting with each others..
people having any religion r not behaving properly as the religion message, they r humans but havent humanity...
the religions were made to teach lessons of humanity, but people r just having only the name of religion & not obeying the message...
u should have humanity & that is important....if u dont believe in any religion then its ok...
u know what is god?
he is a natural power, who is taking care of the whole world..
he is watching ,what we do-the good & the bad...
he is the judge .who gives the justice to those who r suffering from problems...
we people have departed him in different religion..
so this natural power will take care of u ,but u should have humanity...& u know all religious books teach this same lesson of humanity..

I think that's called Universalism. It's a theory that is present in quite a few religions, so if you're looking for me to say "Oh, you're Christian." or anything more specific than that, you need to add more detail.
Some religions that beleive this are: Sikhism, Universalist Unitarianism, some Buddhists I think too.

...as a Catholic. I sometimes drift in thought regarding it all...but for me...i've learned it's a personal connection found in the religion of your choice. When the connection is made with that choice...a good feeling is found...no philosophical theories about it...jus...a feeling of spirituality(holy spirit) that for me...is a sign of the strength behind it all....
So,in answer to your question there Metro...I don't think you can target god without connecting to him through one focus and that's you...and living your life with purpose doing things that bring you closer...you have a family history with Catholicism...so,there it is...don't throw it away. It's where your protection will always be...

Why must you define yourself or put yourself in a specific category? The only important thing is that you know God & that He knows you....a relationship. If that is where you stand then the answer to your question is....you are a child of God.

Mysticism
The state of oneness has many names depending on the mystical system: Illumination, Union (Christianity), Irfan (Islam), Nirvana (Buddhism), Moksha (Jainism), Samadhi (Hinduism), to name a few.

Why do you want a label? If you are at peace with your belief in a higher power then so be it. It really isn't a big deal.
