We have 4 cats. Kallie got her name because she's a Calico. Gizmo got her name because she looks like Gizmo on the movie Gremlins. The other two were just picked out names. We used to have a cat named Cookie. The people before us (the were going to kill her and we saved her at 1 mo old) named her that I think because they meant she was weird (kooky) because she had one little eye and one normal eye when she was born. She was the best cat ever though.

My female Maine coon mix is named Sandy, first because I got her when she was a kitten from a friend who lived at the beach, and second because she was always playing in the litter box! (she doesn't do that anymore, thank goodness)
My male tuxedo cat is named Eightball because he is all black with a white belly, kind of like an eightball..plus I've never heard anyone naming their animal that before and I thought it was pretty cool!

my dog's name is reigna. which is spanish for queen. when she was little she was treated like a queen.
my other dog's name is Sampson. his name is weird and so is he.
my cat's name is misty cuz she gray and black.
my other cat's name is whiskers. dont know why i named him that. i should have named him lucky cuz i brung him to California with me and he ran away. the day i was supposed to leave California. he was in a parking lot and my mom found him. then he was gone for 2 months. it was in the middle of the night and this lady called and said that she found our cat. amazngly he still had his tag on him. he was sick, very skinny and had a scar on his nose. he made it through that. hes a very special cat to me and he's my best friend. i never want to lose him again. i cried everynight he was gone. its been 4 years and hes fine like hes been here forever.

I have 5 cats now: Chickie, cause she would only come when we said, "chi chi chi", so hence, Chickie. Then there's Timmy cause he was so timid when we got him, his brother Punkin, cause he was fat and roly poly orange tabby, and now we have Pusser, a stray who comes when we call "puss, puss, puss". Then there's Bosco, a part siamese and something else. We needed a "B" name and Bosco was it. He is the "Boss" cat. Our cat Cujo (deceased) was so named because the day I got him he made hiss way to the top of the refigerator and hubby had no idea he was there. So hubby goes to fridge, cat leaps on his shoulders, bites his ear and runs away!!! Hence, Cujo!!!

Poppy was already named Poppy when we found her at the HS. I wanted to give her a different name but couldn't settle on one.
Finally we decided to keep it because as my husband pointed out, we had been kitty shopping for a while and didn't find one that "popped" until we found Poppy.

I have two cats; Squirt and Miracle.
When Squirt was born, he was a runt, and it seemed to fit him. Now, he's thirty pounds -- we still call him Squirt, but it's more out of irony than anything.
Miracle was a stray that we had brought in. She was skinny as a rail and pregnant. I named her Miracle because it truly was one that she was still alive, and successfully gave birth to two little kittens.

when i recieved my cat from a shelter he was a baby, and his name was Fred, i never changed it because for some reason it seemed to fit him. so i dont know if it has to do with his personality but something made me want it to stay the same

Thats cute! I named mine Fubu cuz I like the clothes and also cuz she is kind of a fubu, you know? She's just a neat sweet little cat.
