Matthias. Paul came along a little later - a 13th apostle. There were other apostles, too. It was not an office just for the first 12.

Well, I know the apostles picked Matthias, but God picked Paul.....I think they may have jumped the gun by picking Matthias.....just my thoughts and I could be way off..but IMHO that is what happened.

I didn't think anyone took his place. Jesus loved Judas and knew that Judas was part of the plan. Without Judas, Jesus wouldn't have followed out the prophecy of his death.
