Yes, but just after i have met you, until then you are just another faceless number.
If you truly cared, you'll have gone mad long ago. Are you aware how many people die each second, how many people are being hurt or tortured each moment, how much suffering and death there is in the world?
If you really cared you wouldn't be able to stand it and would have gone mad long ago, otherwise you never cared, or stopped caring long ago.
