It is all about choice.
Don't talk about genetics. I don't believe that God would build into a person a tendency towards homosexuality, and even if it's there, it's still a choice. Just because your genetics make you more likely to have a certain behavior doesn't mean that you have to follow that.
For people who talk about it just being educated into people to be heterosexual, consider this. Animals are never taught that they have to only have sex with animals of the opposite gender. It's instinct for them. Right there, that tells me that nature is all about heterosexuality.
Homosexuality is all about making a choice. There's no doubt about that.

To say that homosexuality is not a choice is the same as calling God a "liar" and I won't do that. Just as raping someone, murdering someone, molesting a child is a "choice" so is laying down with your own kind. Let me clarify this for all these homosexuals who are riding this train of "I can't help being gay" straight to hell. In the very beginning of your perversion, you made a "conscious choice" to engage in this barbaric lifestyle. You have all heard throughout your years of homosexuality people warn you of God's judgement if you continue. Because you have ignored and rejected God over and over again while continuing this sin He ( God ) has given you over to a reprobate mind ( Romans 1 ). This is a scary place to be! I know you will probably take offense at this, but I am praying for you. He's given you over to your sin, not that you were born that way, and you do not have to remain this way. You were created for much greater things!

Well, how about you test it?
You're straight. So, when you wake up tomorrow, choose to be homosexual. There ya go. Your success in the matter should tell you if its a choice or not.
I'm serious. Can YOU choose to heterosexual or homosexual? Seriously. I doubt you can, but if you can control your hormones and make yourself consciously homosexual, let me know.
ALSO: The definition of choose is: to select freely and after consideration
I don't think most homosexuals "select freely and after consideration" do you? They don't just go "Hm.. I'm bored. I think I'll be homosexual, even though I'll be condemned to hell, the government will restrict my rights, and religious maniacs will hound me."

Don't you read the Bible?...me either, that's why my mind isn't polluted by that crap. If a homo tries to get someone else to do homo acts...that's bad. I can't mess with every good looking woman I see...straight or gay, people must control their desires.
The mix of hormones in ones body can confuse...and THAT'S not a choice...it comes from birth.

Some guy said that he can't stop smoking. "It's not a matter of choice." The woman sitting next to him said that, if she put a gun to his head, and threatened to kill him if he smoked, would he smoke then?
We have more choices over our lives than we think we do. It may not be a choice to have those thoughts, that is, unless one is practiced in thought control, but everyone has a choice whether they are going to have sex or not. Duh!
Once the taste is there, it's hard to stop, but not impossible.
It's like saying that a pedophile doesn't have a choice as to whether he is going to have sex with a child or not. So, put him in jail before he commits the crime!
No one has to have sex to live!

I think some people are born gay, I believe others become gay out of necessity to the circumstances around them. Some become gay after being abused.

Read up on it. It isn't a choice and trying to change the person is considered counterproductive. The best you can do is accept people for who they are and not judge them.
This link contains pertinent information. It is late in the article though.
Edit:
Added two more links for the different sexes and possibilities from birth.

We do not have a lot of control over who we are attracted to.
Is it possible if we are female and like females, perhaps in our previous life we were male and it stuck with some, thereby they still like females?

Homosexuality is a sinful choice, often due to having experienced damaging, painful events such as child abuse. The sin of homosexual acts brings demonic bondage. Recovery is not as simple as making a single decision, but rather a struggle and a healing process.

None of us can choose the way we may feel at one time or another. We cannot choose circumstances. But, we can choose our actions in any passion or circumstance.
