I use a lot of needles: IV catheters, spinal needles, Tuohy (epidural) needles, arterial catheters, and some big ones to put central lines in.

Most of the needles I use actually never hit the patient, though. They are used to get drugs out of bottles and into syringes.

On a busy day, I probably use 40-50 needles.

I would say Anesthesia doctors use needle more often. Giving shots have always been an important part of their jobs. Whatever kind of anesthesia they will administer, a needle has always to be used in preparation of anesthetic agents from vials or ampules, etc.; and before the actual administration or induction of anesthetics.

Accupuncture physicians do have special needles as their main tool, thus thay use needles always but their needles are of different kind though.

anesthesiologists. even if we're not using needles to inject the drugs, we still need needles to draw up our syringes from the medication bottles.
