I have friends who white and they say Jesus is white, and I also have friends who are black that say that Jesus was black.I tell those races that he was neither. They asked me then what Jesus
Latino such as yourself?I told them no Jesus was not even Hispanic.Hispanic people did not even exist in Jesus time, and Hispanic is more of a preference, never a race.Jesus was human. In fact Jesus lived a pre human existance before he came to earth, taught us that he was the son of god,and he died for us because of our sins. What does it matter if Jesus was black or white?Jesus himself was not partial of race,so what would it matter? These idiots still did not get the point after I had explained to them who Jesus was.Although Israel formerly
known as Canaan, was inhabited with people of color,it was not documented that Jesus was black. The bible says he had hair of wool, ashy feet, est. But there are many people around the globe that look like that. You don't have to be black to have those dominant features.

I have seen a number of questions about that, including one that asked if Christians would still worship Jesus if they found out he was black.
My answer to your friends would be:
Does it realy matter? His skin didn't save me, his shed blood did (1 Thessalonians 1:7; 1 John 1:7)

I have read these views post on how Christ looked and I must say that I do not find many of them Biblical, although there are a few.
Christ was of Jewish decent. I do not believe that His physical appearance would have made Him stand out in a crowd.
It was the character of His Father that drew people to Him and not his looks.
He was not white, nor black and not even purple. He was of the race of Jew’s from the line of David. There are many shades of Jews if anyone has noticed.
What does it matter to our salvation?
Peace and Grace
David

Canaan was a mixed bag because of the Roman Empire, but how many Galilean Jews are or were ever black? I think the debate is dumb. He looked like a Galilean, so probably Arab features in the face and eyes, and lighter than Arab Jewish skin.

I agree, Jesus' race and physical appearance doesn't matter. He came to teach LOVE and FORGIVENESS and BROTHERHOOD. He came to bring people BACK TO GOD.
How would race make a difference here?
For the record, he was a Jew who lived in a time before sunscreen existed. He was most likely tanned with strong features and dark hair & eyes. Everyone under the hot Middle Eastern sun was tanned, 'cause there was no spf back then.
But again, this doesn't amount to a hill of frijoles. It's his LIFE that counts, his life and his CAUSE.

Jesus was definitely NOT white. He would have had a swarthy complexion, undoubtedly dark skinned, as did most of the Jewish population in that area at that time.
It doesnt matter what color He was. The issue is "What did He do?" He died for YOUR sins and mine and is offering forgiveness and the righteousness of God that will allow us into His holy Heaven.

Ok, I refer you to the story of Moses in exodus, he was married to a black woman (african) and Mirriam, Moses sister dissed her, Moses warned her, but she did it anyway. Boom! She was struck with leprazy. And when she repented she was cured. Moses prayed for her. Jesus was Jewish, does that say a color to you? Honestly, in anatimy during disection, we are all the same under the epidermus layer, so its insidious to go on about skin color-----foolish. and God doesn't put up with it!

You are right. The color is not the important thing. It is why He came that is important.
He was born in Bethlehem. In answer to your question about a debate, I am not aware of a debate.
Love to you.

I didn't think there was such a huge debate over this.
