I am a high school senior who will be attending Loyola University New Orleans in the Fall of 2008. I am a resident of The Greater New Orleans area and eligible for the highest TOPS awards. I recently spoke with the admissions counselors at Loyola about tuition, but I did not speak with anyone who was certain how much I will recieve. I have heard from 3500$ - 6000$ each year, but I am not sure.

Anyone who has used TOPS at Loyola or Tulane before would be a huge help!

As a former director of financial aid at a Louisiana private school I got this question all the time. Unfortanately the amount does vary a little each year. Over the last few years more and more students have qualified for TOPS, more than the state imagined. I would ask the financial aid office and not admissions office what the amount is for 2007. They might still not know since the semeser just started. Both schools have VERY nice counselors and directors. I know them personally. This will give you an idea of the amount. It probably wont vary very much. It wont cover anywhere near the amount of expenses you will incur at either school each year. You could also call John Bell at LOSFA, I think he is still there unless he retired. Their number is 922-1011 if I remember correctly.

Good luck.
