Why does George Bush think the lives of hundreds of his countrymen were worth bringing democracy to a country thousands of miles away? Why did Blair think the same?
Aren't they supposed to be our leaders, looking after us? Is Iraq more important than their own citizens and servicemen?
My only guess is that they want the oil, and doing deals with a dictatorship is a bit "iffy".

Terrorism must be fought now unless you want your own bus stops and grocery stores blown up in town. You have to understand that terrorism is not just a one time action. It's a religion that only seeks to kill and destroy. Fight it now or be lost under a sea of destruction.

Only time will tell. The Barbary pirates terrorized European shipping for hundreds of years. That's why Columbus had to find a new route to China. After the U.S. got involved in the Barbary Wars and kicked butt, did Europe get involved and started doing some damage and even France took over Algeria. It still took 30 years from start to finish and even involved a U.S. cut and run after the first attack was a success.

I think it could be the start of changing those warlike tribes into a peaceful place. Such fighting and rebuilding worked for Japan and Germany.

The oil scenario is ludicrous, as the prices at the pumps clearly indicate.

The one possibility you left out was the most logical and likely one: We needed to address the terrorism problem, specifically Iraq's now-proven ties to Al Queda. We also need to deal with Hussein's WMDs, which was also done.

Bush & Blair were, indeed thinking of their fellow countrymen. They knew that, if we didn't responded aggressively to the terrorists, we would be more susceptible to further attacks of the scale of the WTC.

In a word-NO. Iraq is not worth billions of dollars and thousands of lives.Six years later and the Iraqui governement is no closer to being on it's own than it was in the beginning. Wouldnt it make sense if the terrorists really wanted to destroy the United States, there would have been more 9-11's? Geez-has everyone been hypnotized?

You can't bring democracy to a land that never knew it to begin with. It won't happen. They have been tribesmen for much longer than a week.
You answered your own question. Oil is worth the wasting of his countrymens lives.(because he is there for the buck and he is looking out for number 1)

I am surprised at the people who are suggesting that if we don't attack the middle east now, then we will all die in a holy war. We were never a target on our homeland till we interfered with Iraq when we pushed them out of Kuwait in 1991, Osama told us to get our forces out of the middle east as we didn't belong there, we chose to ignore him and 9/11 was the result, in effect we brought trouble to our own doorstep.

He was raised a presidents son where the only one who counted as worthy was him. So he doesn't think of human life unless it is his own as very valuable.
Kind of like when they had kings and the princes were the only ones protected. Did you notice when the rich go to Iraq the soldiers surround them with their own bodies to protect them. I wonder if the mother of that soldier feels bush was more important than his life?
The world is so messed up, why are some worshipped as God's and others are treated like their lives don't count.
The rich rule and the poor die.

The only way we can make this war "worth it" is to quit the charade, admit we're there for the oil, make Iraq our first Muslim-majority state and nationalize the oil industry!

have you ever considered how it would feel to live in iraq with terror and dictators controlling your every move? i think its a worthy choice to help iraq's gain some peace and more control over their lives rather than let dictator's rule their every step. try to put yourself in their shoes.
