Why don't you ask your subjects the scorpions.

Not necessarily. The teachings of some "Christian" churches are moronic and actually demonstrably false, but they went off the rails years ago or were never on them. They are usually the ones who offer simple solutions to complex problems that are wrong.

Read Thomas Aquinas or St. Augustine, or just take a good look at the Catholic Encyclopedia on the net and you will find that religion is not just for the simple minded and does not always offer easy answers. Neither by the way does Judaism or Islam. I'm not Catholic or even religious.

If it's for "fools" or "simple minded" people, I would have to question why you are on a board asking questions, wanting answers FROM them. Do you normally hang out with people you feel are less intelligent than you are? I guess maybe that's how some can feel intelligent - they have to find simple minded people to question.

If it were an "easy" answer... would there be so much fighting within religion? I doubt it.

What easy answer? I find it harder and harder everyday to maintain the Christian life. I am neither a fool, simple minded or looking for an easy answer. Religion is a preference. I prefer to practice my faith. I do not look down on anyone's faith. I believe each of us have a right to worship as we see fit. Why ask the question when RELIGION as you put it...is your own opinion?

It's definetly not for fools or simple minded people. Religion is wonderful, if they teach the right principles. (principles vary with different people) If you're thinking of joining a religion, go ahead. Don't care what anyone else thinks of you. Religion can help you when your sad or drepressed, and it can do so much for you and your family. As long as you learn about things that you believe are true, that's great. I would tell you my church, but I think I'd get reported.

Religion is for those born into it. That's why most people are religious anyways.

There are plenty of smart and complex people who are religious. If every religious person were a fool or simple minded nothing would functions.

I'm an atheist BTW.

If I wanted to spend the time I could write you a long list of people who were obviously not simple minded but who were devout believers. A simple minded person is one who takes a position and will not budge from it or study all of the alternatives.

I'm afraid that if anyone adopts a religion and expects easy answers they're going to be disappointed. Religion gives us different answers but not easier!

Religion is for those who are basically looking for answers to this world. Instead of just running around, drinking, partying, and missing the whole ball of wax. I definitely do not expect an Atheist to understand that concept. They seem more hell-bent on their own lifestyle than anything else.

Only a simple minded fool would ask silly immature question like this.

It is the right of thinking beings to question and to look for meaning in life. Pity those that don't. I would say that they are
"fools or simple minded".
