This is not a fair question to ask. You are comparing 2 things that are totally different. They don't look the same, they don't taste the same, they don't have the same ingredients. However, when it comes down to win, Chicago Style pizza wins. Everywhere I go on vacation I always see Chicago Style Pizza advertised at different pizzerias. And the only place that has a New York style pizza is Domino's, and they food is just gross. And it completely re-invented the way pizza is made. Everyone knows that sauce goes on the top and you need to eat pizza with a fork.

There are a lot of places that claim to have the best Chicago pizza. Pizzaria Uno, Giordano's, Lou Malnotti's and Gino's East all have said that. I think they are all pretty good too. Home Run Inn is usually voted #1 in the suburbs though because they have a number of restaurants there. My personal favorite is Giordano's deep dish spinach pizza. I would vote for that one any day of the week.

I'm a native Chicagoan, and I've gotta say that when you think Chicago pizza, you think Deep Dish, and when you think Deep Dish, you gotta think "Gino's East"! It is located back at its original location on Superior. Although I haven't been back to the new building, I'm sure it's still a great experience. If you go there before I do, please tell me if they're still letting folks write on anything that doesn't move. That's the most fun of all! Great pizza - you gotta get the "slab 'o sausage" not the crumpled up bits and pieces - and a great atmosphere (at least it used to be!) make for an all around wonderful downtown Chi-Town pizza experience.

I believe that Lou Malnati's pizza is the best pizza in all of Chicago. My roommates' name is Rachel Jay and although she's not a food expert, her name if very close to Rachel Ray and she would also agree with me. We find their pizza to have perfect dough depth and fresh ingredients. Home Run Inn just doesn't have the best dough and crust and I'd disagree that they are the best. I've lived in Chicago 25 years and can say the best deep dish pizza is at Lou Malnati's. If you don't live in Chicago you can order it to be shipped to you, and it still tastes amazing.

There is a place on Devon called Vince's Pizza. You actually get 2 for the price of 1. That is not the reason that we love it though. You get a choice of regular sauce or you can get bbq sauce on the pizza. They also have this pizza call hot meat and let me tell you it's great with that bbq sauce. It has sausage and pepperoni and jalapeños on it.

If you live on the northside, it's even better than JB Alberto's on Morse.

Definately Gino's stuffed pizza. Everytime I go to Chicago I go there for one of their pies. I also bring a cooler with to bring some home, (I live 2 hrs. away). Call ahead first though if you can. It takes more than an hour for them to make it, but it is well worth the wait. FYI make sure you write your name on the wall before you go.
