To love God, in this way, is to obey Him. To obey Him, you must obey His every command including the one about believing on His Son.

In order to understand what it takes to get into heaven read all of the new testament, not just a verse or two. Jesus also said "no one comes to the farther except through me" which means you accept Christ as your Savior, repent your sin's and follow him the very best you can,
People get things messed up when they take a verse or two and think this is what God wants,Read the whole Bible to get the whole picture.

Essentially, yes, as long as you understand Jesus' words from John 14...
"I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh to the Father but by me."
Jesus would be the Lord that you love with your whole heart, mind, and strength.

Yes, you cannot 'earn' your way into heaven. We are imperfect and the Lord knows we are flawed; however, it is by grace that we inherit eternal life. We have only to accept the Lord, Jesus Christ as our personal savior and acknowledge that we are sinners but that we repent of our sins and wish to be forgiven. Still, we will not be able to lead a perfect, sin-free existence on this earth. But if we endeavor to live by the Golden Rule, as the Lord teaches in the verses you cited, He will forgive us and we are promised eternal life in the house of the Lord.

No it does not that is part of being a christiaan but the way to become a christian is by accepting that Jesus died for you and to ask him to forgive you of your sins and to ask him to be your Savior. like in John 14:6 "Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." in other words you can't become a christian just cause you love God you become a christian because you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

the rest of ;that verse shows someting else
(Luke 10:29-33) 29 But, wanting to prove himself righteous, the man said to Jesus: “Who really is my neighbor?” 30 In reply Jesus said: “A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jer′i‧cho and fell among robbers, who both stripped him and inflicted blows, and went off, leaving him half-dead. 31 Now, by coincidence, a certain priest was going down over that road, but, when he saw him, he went by on the opposite side. 32 Likewise, a Levite also, when he got down to the place and saw him, went by on the opposite side. 33 But a certain Sa‧mar′i‧tan traveling the road came upon him and, at seeing him, he was moved with pity. . .
(James 2:14-17) 14 Of what benefit is it, my brothers, if a certain one says he has faith but he does not have works? That faith cannot save him, can it? 15 If a brother or a sister is in a naked state and lacking the food sufficient for the day, 16 yet a certain one of YOU says to them: “Go in peace, keep warm and well fed,” but YOU do not give them the necessities for [their] body, of what benefit is it? 17 Thus, too, faith, if it does not have works, is dead in itself.

True and correct. We do not posess that ability to love God or others as ourselves as it is not a part of human nature. That kind of love comes only from one source, The Holy Spirit of God.
