Hi, I have a ear tube in my ear.
My e&t says that since i am very afraid of any sort of pain he thinks i'll move when he's taking it out and he might pierce my eardrum, etc.
so instead he has decided i'm going to have a very minor surgery where i am going to be partially asleep and i'll go to hte hospital or whatever and get this minor surgery done.
i also remember him mentioning i need a paperpatch in my ear
what does that mean?
and please inform me will i need an iv or shots? or is this too minor of a surgery i won't even need that?
please let me know!
i'm really affected to pain.

They don't hurt that much. the fear is worse than the pain.

I have a tube in my ear too but the surgeon said it would fall out by itself in a about 9 months. If you have to be sedated you most likely you will have to have an IV.

Good luck, be brave

not sure what a paper patch is, but you will probably be given an i.v. for medication. they use very tiny needles, and it will not even hurt as much as a bee sting or a pricker. good luck and dont worry too much :)
