Are we in the great tribulation?

Yes. However, the character of the great tribulation is not one of physical violence; but rather of spiritual unfaithfulness in the churches and congregations of the world towards the Word of God. It is characterized by a widespread emphasis on signs and wonders. The churches of our day (all denominations: whether Catholic or Protestant) have fallen away tremendously from the truths of the Bible:
For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. (Matthew 24:21,24)

Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; (2 Thessalonians 2:3)

The first 3 1/2 years are a time of man persecuting the followers of Jesus who are left after the rapture.

The last 3 1/2 years are the time when God pours out His judgment on the un-godly.

NO THE GREAT TRIBULATION IS A VIOLENT destruction of all wicked mankind to prepare te earth for the restoration of Paradise for those that deserve to be there here is a phrophecy ttat is refered to in In rev 19:17
(Jeremiah 25:31-33) . . .with the nations. He must personally put himself in judgment with all flesh. As regards the wicked ones, he must give them to the sword,’ is the utterance of Jehovah. 32 “This is what Jehovah of armies has said, ‘Look! A calamity is going forth from nation to nation, and a great tempest itself will be roused up from the remotest parts of the earth. 33 And those slain by Jehovah will certainly come to be in that day from one end of the earth clear to the other end of the earth. They will not be bewailed, neither will they be gathered up or be buried. As manure on the surface of the ground they will become.’

(Revelation 19:17-18) 17 I saw also an angel standing in the sun, and he cried out with a loud voice and said to all the birds that fly in midheaven: “Come here, be gathered together to the great evening meal of God, 18 that YOU may eat the fleshy parts of kings and the fleshy parts of military commanders and the fleshy parts of strong men and the fleshy parts of horses and of those seated upon them, and the fleshy parts of all, of freemen as well as of slaves and of small ones and great.”

this is a warning to all that This is going to happen, now is the time to find youselves spotless from the world

(2 Peter 3:14-15) . . .Hence, beloved ones, since YOU are awaiting these things, do YOUR utmost to be found finally by him spotless and unblemished and in peace. 15 Furthermore, consider the patience of our Lord as salvation, . . .

(James 4:4) 4 Adulteresses, do YOU not know that the friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever, therefore, wants to be a friend of the world is constituting himself an enemy of God.

I would disagree. The original fulfillment of the prophecy about the great tribulation took place in ancient times. The suffering of the Jewish nation during that time was very physical in nature and it included hunger of such proportions that they resorted to eating their own young. History bears that out as does the book of Lamentations, which is ALL about what they went through during that time.

Think Inquisition when you think of the "Great Tribulation".

I am not saying you are totally wrong, because I believe there will be something spiritual about that time. However, it is NOT time, yet.

GOD bless

All of human history is one continuous story of blood letting. We've actually mellowed out a lot compared to our ancestors.
