A positive influence.

The Pentecostal fundamentalism of my parents had such a profoundly negative influence on me that, fifty years later, I'm still struggling to undo the damage they (and it) did to me. As for my own religion, I have none and never will. Religion is nothing but a pack of evil lies used by unscrupulous charlatans to manipulate the ignorant and the gullible. Radical atheism has probably prevented my suicide, by helping me learn to distinguish between the real and the unreal. Life is much more manageable if one limits themselves to only that which is actually real.

My Christian faith has certainly preserved me and has very much positively influenced my life.

Even though there were times I strayed from my Christian upbringing, because the knowledge and word of God was in me [in my heart] I was spared from many many pitfalls.

There is no substitute for a life full of the love and knowledge of God.

Definitely positive. When I go through hard times, or even just feel a bit "down" I can turn to God and ask Him for help. I think that without God I probably would feel like there was no purpose in my life.

I was raised Catholic, and it would've been a negative influence had I taken it seriously. Fortunately I didn't, and my parents weren't the insane religious type so it wasn't forced on me.

As a very little kid I definitely wanted to believe. I remember taking my First Communion extremely seriously. But by the time I was Confirmed I had decided it was all a load - and I was much, much happier.

My lack of religion has had a very positive influence. It has allowed me to see people not sinners, love not hate, peace not war, reality not fantasy - well you get the idea.
