Well that means you believe in a false god. God is and does what His word says He does and says. NOT something we disagree with or form an imagination enough to believe from our own limited understanding. If the god you believe in can not flood the world, save 8 people, and have them repopulate this earth then the god you be live in doesn't exist; an idol. That means his power is limited or is powerless altogether. If you believe in the true God then you know His power has no limits! Heb 10:1 Now FAITH is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things NOT SEEN. Where is your faith?

If you do not believe the ark, you do not believe the Bible. Now for some facts. What is bigger,-a chicken or an egg? A baby elephant or a bull elephant,? what takes up more room-think real hard..Based on measurements given in the Genesis account, most experts agree that the ark had approximately 1,500,000 cubic feet of free space. So we can gasp the size, the ark would be equivalent in volume to 522 standard American railroad stock cars, each of which can hold 240 sheep.
The number of animals which could have been comfortably carried aboard the Ark for the duration of the voyage is in dispute for various reasons with the number fluctuating between 16,000 and 25,000. Keep in mind that not all the creatures of the earth had to be on board the ark, only air breathing, land-dwelling animals. I am reliably informed that 1,500,000 cubic feet would equal the capacity of 570 modern railroad cattle cars. Most animals are not very large, so if we surmise that the average size of all animals is the size of a sheep and one railroad stock car can carry about 240 sheep, then we could fit 40,000 animals in as few as 167 railway cars. As the Ark's total capacity was 570 cars, then 40,000 animals would require less than 30% of the Ark's space. In other words all the animals could fit on just one of the Ark's three decks which would leave the other 70% of the ark's space free for animal supplies, Noah's family, food, and any personal belongings which may have needed to be carried. The ark landed in the ararat Mountains not on Mount Ararat. Bit of an area size. claims by Wyat and others have been in doubt. Hope this clears up a few ideas. God Bless.

Are you suggesting that only "brainless" (or brain impaired) people could believe this story? If so, it would help if you shared how your brain arrived at that conclusion so others that know they aren't stupid or brainless and DO believe can respond.
For example, have you done the math? If the population of the whole world was 8 people about 6,000 years ago, the population of the world now would be about 6.2 billion IF the population grew at an average rate of just .345% per year. At the same growth rate, if there were just 1,000 people alive 6000 years ago, the world population would be about 800 billion!
If humans have been living on this planet for 120,000 years, to get around 6 billion people in the world in the year 2007, the human race would have had to be on the verge of extinction for most of our existence. To get from the "scientific" estimate of 7 million people alive in the 4th century BC, the population growth rate would need to be around .00001% (that's 1 one-hundred thousandth of a percent)...the growth rate in the measurable past at least has be FAR greater than that (currently a little over 100,000 times greater)! .

notice that that's a million/12th of the size, and that they nevertheless did no longer flow it on a canal. discover me a maritime engineer which could layout a wood boat the size of the ark that may not harm up or leak like a sieve on a comfortable ocean swell and that i visit take the story somewhat extra heavily. additionally i could have missed the bit approximately Noah making 6ft extreme panes of glass. The abode windows on the ark are defined as a unmarried window one cubit sq.. to furnish sufficient ventilation over the three decks Noah might could layout a device to pass air although the window at approximately 2 hundred mph. ultimately, the place did you get 40 days? that's how long it rained. pass returned a re-study the passage. The animals have been on the ark for one 365 days.

In the New Testament, Paul says this in 2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
This was written before people called it "Old Testament", and "New Testament". The account of Noah's Ark is included in scripture. So, after everything was over, God placed a sign in the sky to remember the promise that He would not destroy the world with water again. The next time, it will be with fire. This sign was a rainbow. Do you believe they exist?????????

Before some Christians point out that "Noah's Ark" being found, it was only called that because of its location. For Noah's Ark to be true, it would have to be the size of several countries. Obtaining and keeping those animals alive would be impossible. Not to mention 2 animals is not enough genetic diversity to support a population and the carnivores would need something to eat.

According to a show on The Discovery Channel titled Noah's Ark: The Real Story -
The story of the global flood was recorded in history at several points in time by people of several different religious faiths. The story in the Bible was originally written by Jewish scholars, presumably as a cautionary tale about the repurcussions of going against God. The story was copied several times and translated, so many details of the story are disputable and open to interpretation.
Geologists have said that at no time was the earth EVER completely covered in water (that is all the mountians being underwater). There is simply not enough water on the planet to come even remotely close to a flood of such magnitude. Even if it was possible to flood the earth to such heights, no human could have survived as they would immediately drown when they tried to breathe - there would be so much water vapor in the air. Also, your lungs would be crushed by the immense pressure caused by the water vapor.
Ignoring the fact that loading every single species on the planet two-by-two would take several decades, that number of animals simply would not even be AVAILABLE to Noah. It is possible, according to some Biblical scholars, that Noah loaded up two of every animal IN THE REGION. Even so, it would not matter because building a wooden vessel of the size needed to house such animals would be an exercise in futility - the boat would leak uncontrollably and sink almost immediately.
Back to the original point, the story is known to have been written down by the Babylonians and presumably found by the Jewish scribes and copied (embellished?) as an allegory. Noah was more than likely a merchant in Babylon. He probably sold livestock, grain and beer, as was customary for most Babylonians of the time. He was said to be a king, but that granted him very little status in that area, as kings were not above Babylonian law and could quickly be forced into slavery if they defaulted on a promise of payment or delivery of goods. Most likely, Noah (which probably was not his name, obviously!) was on his boat, which would have been incredibly small in comparison to the Ark described in the Bible, with his family on the Euphraties River when a severe storm approached. During this time of year the waters would have been fairly high from the melting snow on the mountains to the north. The storm was very intense and lasted for several hours, if not a few days, causing great amounts of localised flooding. Such flooding is known to have happened in that area and probably did happen every thousand years or so, which is why it was written about! Noah and his family rode out the storm by drinking the beer (which was mostly water and full of nutrients) he had on board the vessel, as he did not have enough water to survive for several days on board the boat. When the storm had subsided, Noah looked around and could only see water - no land was to be found. This led him to believe the flood was so immense as to cover the entire land. Most likely, though, the raging flood waters of the Euphraties had pushed him out to the Persian Gulf, which would explain why the water was too salty to drink, according to legend. After enough time had passed and the waters had subsided, Noah attempted to return home. When he got there, he was threatened with slavery because most of his creditors had also survived and were demanding due payment. His only recourse was to flee. When he arrived in a foreign land, he told of his plight and the story was written down, passed around, changed and embellished into legend. The Jewish scribes most likely found a highly embellished story about this Noah character and decided to use it as a lesson for the Bible.
I'm sure I skipped a few details and maybe made a couple of mistakes (it was very late when I watched the special), however most of this is accurate, at least the important details! It does not explain why some people believe the story as it is written, word-for-word, in the Bible, but I believe some have already answered that for you. Blind faith is incredible, especially in the face of reality.

Atheist and I do not believe that there was any world-wide flood, maybe there was some sort of flood when the glaciers from the last Ice Age melted, but nothing on the magnitude that the Bible claims it to be...so you have enough brains to not believe in it? Go you...but why do you believe in a woman having a baby but not getting pregnant first? (Since...Mary, however young or old, just says that Jesus was born to her without the touch of man, but that doesn't mean she was a virgin before or after that...for all we know, Mary could have been the biggest s1ut or a good little nun...who knows, were you there?) So...bring on the thumbs down!!!! ^_^

There is scientific evidence (geological) that shows that a flood was entirely possible and likely did happen.
What makes you doubt? Flood of the world? Could have just been the known (populated) world. The animals? Well if the flood was just of the known world, then other animals would have existed elsewhere, right?
What else proves the flood? Ice age. The evaporation of all the water cooled things off for a while.
There are many things to prove the flood - do some research, maybe Google and see what science has to offer.

Why does it sound impossible that the "Then Known World" could have flooded? Archaeologists have discovered flood deposits in Ancient Cities such as Fara, Ur, and Kish.
Also you would have denote the other religions that also recorded the flood. The Greeks, Druids, Hindus, Chinese, Polynesians, Mexicans, Peruvians, American Indians, and Greenland.
