i am 18 and i just moved to va beach and i am looking for a way to meet new people to hang out with. i dont really know anyone around here. what is the best way to meet people and make new friends. is there a website that i can meet people or what are some options?

MINGLE!! the best way to meet people is to have casual talks and find out what you have in common with other people.
Play any sports, do hobbies, or want to take lessons for boxing or surfing? Join a team or sign up for something and in no time you'll have friends.
Hit the gym. Your bound to find a lot of guys who work out there and while your working out, talk to people around your age asking wheres the best place to go clubbing and sorts.
Play it cool and be friendly with everyone. Be yourself and just have fun. You'll make friends in no time.

I was going to say follow your passion, but your 18 and young people don't develop themseves anymore, sadly. What do you do in your off time? My husband plays chess in the coffee shops and has many friends there. We are birders and are active here in Wa. state. There are many to meet in our area doing the same and locally on line. The parks have many activities offered in this or other activities. Do you ski or what hobby? Are you a runner? Thought of joining the Ymca. Theres always your church, I find volunteering is a way to follow your interests and meet many people.

just B yourself, and be open to meeting people. you have to be confident and let things flow. you don't need websites or activities. you can meet a best friend or soul mate at the laundromat or on line at the supermarket (or DMV) if you're open and approachable and willing to approach.

school or job is a great way....places where you see the same people. other than that gym, or local coffee houses. you just have to keep trying.

just say hi to everyone! the greeting "hi" can bring friends. thats how i got my friends just saying hi and then they start talking about something else and eventually we became best friends. one friend can lead to another to another like my friend jazmine. i met her from my friend, joanna cuz they were friends and now we are all friends!
