I only smoke 3-4 a day...so I want to keep the other packs fresh longer. (I bought a carton, because it saved me lots of money)

Yes the freezer will keep them fresh, i live in a state where cigarette prices are insane and once every 2 months i drive 3 hours out of state to buy a few cartons and i keep them in my freezer to keep them fresh, IMO cigarettes taste better cold.
Goodluck!

Fresh Cigarettes

Cigarettes are essentially the same as cigars, when you buy a fine cigar you don t get it from a freezer. Freezers suck humidity out. The proper place if you want to keep your cigs fresh is in the humid controlled drawer in your fridge...like a lettuce. HUMIDOR!

as long as the packs are unopened they should stay fresh for a while. once you open them they dry out. I would imagine keeping them in the freezer would keep them fresher but I don't think it's necessary unless you are keeping them longer than 6 months or so.

Yes, putting them in the freezer does indeed help keep them fresher. Cigarettes will stay fresh for 180 days (6 months) as packaged without refrigeration. When refrigerated or frozen, they will stay fresh indefinitely.

My husband always keeps his in the backseat of his car, and I'm sure that's not the best way to keep anything fresh. My cousin always puts hers in freezer, unless she buys them by the pack when she keeps them in the fridge. I always wondered why she did that until now. I would assume that keeping them in the freezer would help to keep them fresh...

Freezer is the place. Definately won't put them in suspended animation...they will get old.
