Hi there,

First of all calm down!

You are not that seriously overweight, probably just a little pudgy. Usually women in there 40's don't continually work out unless they have some kind of support group. Try a women's only gym and get with it. They will help you so much and you will realize your problem isn't as bad as others. Also, tell your family to encourage your new healthy lifestyle. Tell them you need to change your body so you will not be depressed ( trust me weight and happiness go together).

Good Luck and remember YOU WILL DO FINE!,

I've had a lot of success with Weight Watchers, and so have several of my friends. It's easy to do, you can eat regular food, it's a healthy approach and you can do it forever so you won't put the weight back on. Combine it with increased exercise and you'll REALLY drop the pounds quickly.

Whole grain breads and cereals. Brown/wild rice.
NO baked potatoes.
NO soft drinks - reg. or diet.
NO sweets or cake/ice cream.

Exercise - 30 to 45 min/day aerobic exercise, either treadmill or elliptical.

Sorry, but diet & exercise R the keys to healthy, successful weight loss.

Start jogging, and bicycling...

Walking and jogging are the highest calorie burners, but you can bicycle for a longer period of tme, so you can burn more calories that way..

You also need to reduce your calorie intake.... One without the other won't give you the results at a satisfying rate.

If you bicycle, it must not be at a leisurely pace.. you need to put effort into it, and get your heart rate up, for extended periods of time

Stop eating, its the perfect way to lose weight, some people say its unhealthy, but they just want you to spend your money on their products, which are usually worse for your health and goal

Start with one day a week, maybe Sunday, just don't eat all day, and relax

When thats comfortable, move up to 2 days a week.

As we age our metabolism slows down and it is harder to loose weight so we need to alter our diets and do more exercise.

That is a large jump for just a metabolism change, what caused it? If it was due to medication you need to look into changing it with your doctor.

If you changed your way of life you need to correct it.

Good Luck
