I just starred this question.
Notify all shelters in your community, and put up pics in your neighborhood, and place an add in the local newpaper,
thank you for bringing in the puppy, you are a kind soul!!

If that's all you plan to pay for a Doberman pup, you will more than likely end up with a poorly bred pup. That price range describes just about any BYB that pumps out puppies to make a quick buck. Save your $ and the heartache. EDIT: To the answer above me...do your homework, not ALL breeders on that list are reputable. Some don't even uphold the DPCA Code of Ethics. Research ANY breeder thoroughly.

Go to your nearest vet and ask them to scan the dog for a microchip (it's free)
File a Found Dog report with your local shelter.
Post an ad on Craigslist http://www.craigslist.org in the PETS section and the LOST and FOUND section.
Do NOT give any details or descriptors of the dog, simply write DOG FOUND and give the area. Be sure to write "email or call to identify" **This is to ensure the dog's rightful owner gets the dog back, and not just anyone who wants a dobie puppy.**
Also look on Craigslist LOST and FOUND, and PETS to see if anyone has posted a lost dog.
Put up FOUND DOG signs in your neighborhood, again without giving any details WRT the dog.
Good luck.

ADD: DP also has a good idea. Contact your nearest Doberman rescue
http://www.fldobermanrescue.bizland.com/
http://west.petfinder.com/shelters/FL482.html
http://www.suncoastdobermanrescue.org/
http://www.dobermannrescue.org/
They will send out an alert to their group members that this dobie was found.

well i haven't, but i'd have to say yahoo answers is not exactly the best place to put this, anyone could claim it and there are a lot of psychos here. i'd say put an ad on craigslist with his info and picture. if he has a tag call the number on it. as a last resort you can go to the police station, they usually will hold the dog for another day or two before bringing him to a shelter, find out whether the shelter is a no kill or a kill shelter. hope this helps and good luck finding the owner! =]

You can't keep the dog, it's very unfair to the family who have lost it, you need to take it to a shelter/pound/vet whatever the law in your city says to do so they can see if the puppy has a microchip.
You need to take the dog to get read today not next week.

If I were near you, I'd take it. You could post something in the area where you found the puppy. Keep an eye out for ads that someone may place for a lost puppy. If you do end up taking it to the shelter, please be sure to find a no-kill shelter.

Take it to the Humane Society . Tell them you found the puppy wandering around and in the streets . They'll hold adoptions because this puppy belongs to somebody . If nobody claims him in less than 48 hours he'll be put up for adoption so he can find another home that wont let him wander the streets .

Where at in Florida?
I have a friend in that area & I have emailed her & asked if she knows of anyone missing a Dobie, but I have yet to hear from her.
I would put an ad in the newspaper, but if someone tries to claim the dog make sure they have proof that the dog is theirs!!

Notify all the shelters in the area and if you have time, put up posters. I'm sure that there's someone out there who loves him that's looking for him right now.
