We don't require shoes off but most people will kick off their shoes if the weather is bad. I would do the same at someone's home rather than track mud or snow into their home. Service guys always have come with shoe protectors which I always appreciate.

I don't wear shoes in the house, neither do most people I know. Its uncomfortable at the very least - I dont know how people can relax wearing shoes 24/7 - to me its like wearing your coat on all the time. I have flip flops and slippers that I wear inside, and I dont go outside in them, I change first.

Its unhealthy to wear shoes inside too, you're tramping around the house all day with dirt and germs from your shoes getting spread all over your home, think about the dirt from the pavement outside stuck to the bottom of your shoes... chewing gum, dog poo, food etc - its disgusting.

Also, it is better for your feet to go without shoes sometimes, it exercises their muscles.

Yes I prefer it but would never ask a guest to take off his or her shoes.

I live in Alaska and we get a lot of rain in the summer and the winter we have snow, so most people take off their shoes anyway. We usually wear boots in the winter so many people either bring shoes to change to (in that case the shoes or clean) or just go in their socks or stockings.

I dont at the moment because I rent, but I plan to when I buy a house since I want to have bamboo floors. I think it would be pretty easy for me & my family to adjust to, but I know I hate it when I go to someones house (especially someone I dont know well) and they insist on me taking my shoes off. I always have shoes that are hard to get on & off, or a hole in my stockings or something like that.
I think I might offer people coming to my house a pair of those paper booties, like what they wear in hospitals. That way, they can feel comfortable and then they can either keep them or dispose of them when they are finished.

No. If people want to take their shoes off, then fine but I once had a house guest who automatically took her shoes off in the height of summer and believe me, it wasn't a pleasant experience! In any case I don't have carpets so cleaning up is easy.

Yes. I have a strict rule that everyones shoes must come off at the door. My kids and I are all really good about taking off our shoes before we come in the house. Whenever my kids have friends over they are quick to tell them to take off their shoes as it is a rule. Most of my friends are shoes off people too and they take theirs off without any disscusion others you just have to politely ask to please remove their shoes.

the main important section is notification. anybody is way less offended while they see that that's an ongoing rule interior the abode. Have well mannered yet sparkling indicators on the front. Greet human beings by acknowledging this magnificent away and be tender with what you're asserting. which you ought to to take a position in some low-fee slippers: some human beings would be very uncomfortable with being barefoot.

No. I have a "shoes off" preference for myself. I don't allow visitors INSIDE. Only management & repair personell have entered & I would NEVER allow them to remove their shoes inside my domain. If they did, I'd throw them out in a heartbeat! If I ever owned a home again, I would buy some disposable shoe covers for guests to wear OVER their own footwear!

No, I do not but I have friends who do. Their carpets look great while I work hard to keep mine mediocre. When we get new carpet, there will be a shoes off rule.
