I was just watching a couple going down to the beach for their holy union. Do people think that it's more romantic?

I think the sand would be quite a bother...

As someone who is marrying on the beach, I'll say I quite like the idea...it's beautiful, I love the sounds of the birds and the surf, I love the timelessness of the ocean, and it's a place of much life...that represents alot of what a marriage should be, IMO...also, we aren't religious, so marrying in a church seemed a bit pointless to us.

I think people just do what is personal to them. Maybe they go to the beach alot together and find that romantic. Also, beach weddings have sort of a "forced" casualness about them, so a way to make it less stuffy. For my fiance and me, our special getaway has always been the mountains, so that is what we find romantic and where we are getting married. It is different for everyone.

My fiance and I are getting married on the beaches of OBX next June.

We both love the beach, love the sand, want something more casual, as well as wanting something a little different.

Because it is beautiful. The beach holds a special place in some peoples hearts. If I hadnt moved away from my home to be with my man, we would be married on the beach. Unfortunately, due to work committments we no longer live near the beautiful beach I love......but if I could.....I would choose the beach.

my sister chose to get married on a balcony overlooking the beach , because she didn't want to marry in a church ( neither of them are religious ) .. i must say it was an absolutely beautiful ceremony .

so far i've been to two weddings , two of the ceremonies were held in a church and one at the beach , and the beach was a lot nicer.

They are nature lovers who enjoy the ocean and open sky. Many nature lovers feel more comfortable with a less formal dress. What's unusual, is to see a woman in a cinderella dress on the beach. Now, that's weird.

some people think that it's more romantic. it really just depends on the couple and their personality and personal wants. i work with weddings and i have seen people get married on bridges that connect two countries, on boats, local parks, theatres, and the wierd first places that they first met.

The bride doesn't have to wear those "never worn shoes" and the groom "looks more casual and "relaxed" himself.
