If Americans want to be Military, they have no choice but to take/sign the oath. The President & all members of the Executive Branch, The Legislative Branch (Congress) and all Supreme Court Justices take the oath to defend & uphold the Constitution.
I agree with you that Bush has done everything in his power to not only ignore The Constitution, but to trample on and overturn as much of it as he can. Wiretapping, elimination of habeous corpus, secret prisons, etc. The list is endless. Just think of all the things he's done that we have yet to learn about!!
Hiring strict constructionist Supreme Court Judges is the most frightening part of all. With lifetime appointments, do you know how much damage they will be able to do before they die or are replaced? Every case they look at or decide to act on, effects the Constitution.
So when you put it all in context, the oath the military takes, is much less threatening to the American people, than the one that the other Branches of Govt takes. To think they all work for "we the people". Or at least, they use to, until they started working for the corporations!

No. A soldier takes and oath to preserve the form and to persist with the orders of superiors, the President being the main more desirable interior the armed centers. As such, any conflict wherein the President pronounces that the centers of the defense force is mandatory is a conflict which a soldier is compelled to serve, whether or not it extremely is a real assertion of war or not.

Start by reading this:
I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
I don't know about you but I have taken this oath 4 times so far. I have been given thousands of orders and not one was unlawful. I did serve a president who did something that would land a military member in Leavenworth, but he's gone now. We don't the things we do because a certain person is president, otherwise the military would change personnel every 4 or 8 years. I think I speak for most G.I.'s at least the lifers like me. We do it for love, love of our country, love of our families, and love of freedom. I have been to Iraq and Afghanistan plus counties you probably have never heard of. i have been all over the world to include places that don't even exist. i have made allot of good friends and out lived some of them, but they died doing what they loved and for what they believe in. So sleep good at night knowing that there and men and woman out not only willing to put their lives on the line but are put ing them on the line to keep you safe.

The military people can take their oath and serve under President Bush just the way they served under impeached president clinton. No president twisted or tried to subvert the Constitution as much as comrade bill. Every president since Johnson has funded the unconstitutional welfare state. Should the military from that far back be punished for obeying orders?

OK, look at the answers you get from the Bushies! Iraqi children are a threat to their way of life! How do you reason with that?
They contradict themselves.
1. the troops are are there to protect my right to free speech.
2. I should not use my "right" to free speech, they are fighting to protect!.
Translation: As long as they agree with what I say I have the right to say it,
Do you thank Saddam every had anyone arrested for kissing up to him and "supporting the troops"?

Excellent question. I really don't understand the other answers. I think that some of those in the military are asking the same question... some of them are willing to spend time in jail because they don't want to go against their conscience or International Law!
There is an organization called "Courage To Resist" that helps soldiers to refuse being sent to Iraq.

Your question is unanswerable because it is your opinion and not factual of truth or reality. You declaring a crime is being committed by the President does not make it reality. The service men and women that I have spoken with are very proud of the oath they take and take that oath very seriously.
