legally, it may be possible but i doubt it. it's not a good idea anyway. marry the woman, then adopt her daughter.

Doesn't matter whether her father is "in the picture" or not. He has to sign away all parental rights first...that means going to court. After that you have to marry your girlfriend and once more return to court for the adoption. Keep in mind that if her bio father is currently paying child support that will cease when you adopt her.

Boy, if your relationship fails, and there's a good chance it will, what then? I don't think the courts would let you adopt a child if you are not married to Mom.

it depends on the laws in the state that you live in. you should talk to your local adoption agency and find out what they have to say.
