Do they send it regular mail or is it certified? If it is certified, can anyone at my home sign for it or do I have to be there?

The loan is actually a TuitionAnswer loan through Sallie Mae and they send it directly to you, not the school. I am waiting for mine but I am a little nervous about having it mailed.

Sallie Mae will never send a check to your home. They will send it to your school to pay for your tuition, books, fees, dorms, meal-plan, etc. If there is any money left over the school's bursars office will cut you a check for the excess. Some people get money, some don't. It really depends on the cost of the school and how much you borrowed.
Good Luck

***EDIT** My bad-sorry, I should know better than to ever say never. I'm getting old and outdated. This is one i haven't heard of before. I found the FAQ page and posted it below. It looks like its sent regular mail....

When and how will checks be mailed?
Please allow 5–7 business days after the disbursement date for your check to arrive.
Tuition Answer Loan checks are sent through the U.S. Postal Service.

If this is an uncertified loan at Sallie Mae. They will send it to you directly. Ask them how it is sent. If you did obtain a loan like this, WHY?? The interest rate will eat you alive.

If the school certified the loan, then it will be sent to the school to cover any expenses.
