I don't see how it could, save, to help you digest your food. It seems a lot of people like to stretch after they've eaten, perhaps to straighten out any kinks in the intestines. It is the general consensus though that you don't exercise for an hour or two after you've eaten. In the Army they have you exercise BEFORE you eat, which is often really early in the morning.

As for whether or not it will affect the fat in your food, I don't see how it could. Your body is going to burn fat or not based on the exercise you get throughout the day, not just when you've eaten. In fact, your body is more likely to burn what's already stored, than what you have just eaten. When you eat, your body diverts its resources to digestion, hence, if you stretch right after you ate, you are not likely to burn fat you are digesting, because most of that fat probably hasn't been digested yet. The first thing you digest is simple carbohydrates or simple sugars.

If you feel comfortable stretching after you've eaten, go right ahead and do so, so long as you don't over do it. It may, like I said, help straighten out your intestines, and help the food pass through your digestive system quicker or easier. As opposed to just sitting in your gut.

So long as you aren't regurgitating anything if or when you do it. It should be fine though, especially if it makes you more comfortable.

It's good to stretch after meals rather than just sitting or flopping on the couch. What you don't want to do is rigorous exercise right afterwards, but before is fine.
Make sure you drink plenty of water because muscles can release toxins that can accumulate if you're not adequately hydrated.

None what so ever. The fat you ate is not getting ''toned'' by doing the stretching or breathing....it's all in your head.

Yes actually, it is a bad thing to stretch after you eat. It makes you get cramps sometimes. Or you might pull one of your intestines. It think it happened to me before. I had to stay in the hospital almost a week. :(

eh kinda you can get the "stich in the side" cramps where your side hurts really bad,but that also happens on an empty stomach, but its best to wait at least around 15 to 25 minuites after you eat or drink, becasue if your moving your diaphram theres a chance you wil get eather hiccuips or throw up..and the remedy for hiccuips is "penut Butter." you have to say it,not eat it.

well of course its helpful. any sort of stretching or exercising is.
but ya it would probably be more beneficial if you did it before you eat. and if you work out alot in one day and your sore you should buy some epsom salt. it is like the pain killer of all pain killers, for when your hurt to. it works great and relaxes your muscles. its cheap to its like 1$/pound.

Maybe if you ate a whole lot and then put a lot of pressure on your stomach you may be tempted to puke all over granma's favorite tablecloth, but other than that I don't see where there could be a problem.
