I just received one and it wasn't from a fire ant, but rather the black ones. But is wasn't those tiny normal black ones, it was this really humongous one, like twice or three times the size of the normal one. Is there really any difference though? Are ant bites poisonous because this my first time ever getting a bite and I felt it right away...

Ant bites can cause serious allergic responses of the worst kind so be care ful and monitor the bite till up to 24 hrs after the bite. . Be sure you have access to an emergency facility
Did you see the ant that bit you? It is recommended that you actually catch it to make a positive identification of the species. Some spiders crouch when they bite and it can be mistaken for an ant by a child.
Look at the bite mark. Did it leave a stinger? Take it out with a tweezor. The stinger will have more venom injecting into your skin. Look at the shape of the wound before it gets swollen. Wash it with dilute vinegar in warm water. It will counteract a usual alkaloid venom . If you have these sting first aid ointments , put some on the bite.

Wrong section to ask this, but: If you make a paste out of meat tenderizer, MSG, and put that on the bites it will help the pain. Benadryl will help if it's an allergic reaction, but frankly, if it was such a reaction, you wouldn't be typing right now. About the ants; mix Borax with honey or jelly and leave it near the ant pile. It sterilizes the queen, so the colony dies out. It's not an insta-fix, but it doesn't poison anything either. Good luck1

No. Ant bite is not poisonous.

It contains formic acid (CHCO) and has only temporary effect. Best plan is to wash the bite area with an alkaline stuff, such as soap. It instantly neutralizes acid and provides relief.

Ant bite is innocent compared to Bee or Wasp bite, which circulates through the blood and cause nervous system problem.
